Using acounts on other computers

Ok.... i've already posted this up once, but for the life of me i searched and cant find it so here it is...


I have been playing discovery on a desktop - when i go back home ill be using it on my laptop and obviously i dont want to start over...

So, last time - someone told me to use Freelancer account manager.. so i downloaded it, and when it opened it found some kind of account (it said it was new and asked for a name) so.. i got it, made the file, emailed it to myself....

So installed everything on the laptop and opened the account manager on there.. and imported the emailed file manually into that program... all good so far, i opened freelancer, went to online games.. and it has a New acount ID... so.. i write down the other one, and manually enter it in... i get onto the server, and nothing has happened, my accounts arent there.....

i know im doing something stupid somewhere... but i just cant make it work - i noticed as well that freelancer account manager gives my acount iD and something called a signiture number.. both of these have lower case letters in them, but freelancer doesnt let you use lower case letters when you enter your account (is it case sensitive?)

Has anyone done this before? any help would be appreciated... ideally, id like to be able to use my accounts on both computers, when im at either place..

Well, I don't know exactly but the point of the Freelancer account manager is that you DON'T have to enter anything manually. So Freelancer made a New Account when you opened it?
Simple, Open account manager and press "Scan". It should then find the New Account that Freelancer made AND the correct SIGNATURE.
Activate the account you E-Mailed yourself and it should work, the account freelancer made is just a Spare, Clean one.

Hope this helps.

Edit: The Problem you seem to have is what account is active. To activate an account Double click it.

FAM allows you to save all your account IDs to a file. Transfer that file to your other computer,via floppy disc, email, or flash drive (WOO!) and import the IDs from the file. And Voila! That should work!

When I did it, I made the mistake of not hitting export... you might want to hit that first, if you didn't.

I got it to work... just had a go on the laptop and it works - (gotta get a mouse for the thing now... flying with a touchpad sucks!)
