After the recent Phantom terrorist attacks on New London and the Nomad assault on Manhatten, Bretonia and Liberty are looking to enhance their defensive capabilities. With this goal in mind, the CRI brought a retired Bretonian Battleship back into service and recommissioned it the HMCS-Magnificent. The recommissioning ceremony took place at Norfolk shipyards, where the ship is now being upgraded. Like the original Magnificent, the ships mission is to defend Sirius against forces like the Nomads that would see the human race extinct.
Heated debates quickly started after the announcement of the ship's recommissioning. When questioned, the Captain of the Magnificent had this to say:
The events involving the Nomad's assault on Manhatten are an unspeakable tragedy and will never be forgotten. The primary mission of the Magnificent will be to avenge the death of its former crew members and all those that perished in the Nomads assault on Manhatten. The Magnificent is not to be remembered as the bringer of death, but as the light that held back the darkness.
The battleship is expected to leave for Omicron Delta once the upgrades are complete.
