Kress: I'm sorry to hear that you're planning to shut down the Workers Front. [translation from grammar Nazi]Virus probably meant to say that you should find somebody you trust to take over the leadership of the Workers Front.[/translation from grammar Nazi]
' Wrote:Kress, I'm sorry to see the group go. Also doesnt bode well for others of us trying to work on small faction groups. I think the AFA is dead at this point too, and I dont know if I'm on in a diffrent time zone or what, but I rarely see Black Dragons online anymore. I'm starting to RP with the NLH'ers, because I dont want to give up my Ze'ev Barak Char. I was talking with Equinox the other day and we were both lamenting the fact that it's so hard to get a small faction group up and running, but some of the best oppurtunities for good rp are in the small factions. It is hard, and frustrating, especally when you see that there are what 4 outcast factions, 3 or 4 Corsair factions, 2 liberty navy and 1 liberty police faction. The problem is that it's very easy to generate intrest in a poorly RP'ed major faction, and very hard to generate intrest in well RP'ed small factions. I feel like some of the hard core RP's should put their heads together and get a really solid, well RP'ed small faction to show people how it's done. Some of us have tried it individualy or in pairs, but I think the brain trust of disco could do it really well.
Anyway back to the topic at hand, sorry to you the Unioners go:(
Zelot: I agree with you. If you see me in-game in a civilian character, PM me and I can switch to my Black Dragons account. I rarely play my Black Dragons characters, as I prefer to have a partner with me due to the large number of enemies that Hogosha characters attract.
As for why you rarely see Black Dragons in-game, I can tell you that the three Black Dragons players (pipboy, chopper and Evil_Joker) who outrank me have had RL problems over the last couple months, so that has substantially reduced or eliminated their time for Freelancer. At the same time, my workload as a taxi driver increased to 80+ hours per week. Only recently has that slowed down, so that I could get back to playing some Freelancer.
Anyway, I'll do what I can to keep the Black Dragons going and I can help you with the AFA whenever we're in-game at the same time. Due to my work as a taxi driver, my hours vary a lot, so I don't maintain the type of schedule that most people in the Eastern USA do.
Sad to see you guys go...Although I only saw one or two of you guys ever...
@Juan I had a grammer-from-hell topic I wanted to show you, but I forgot what it was...
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs

Was it something I wrote?:$
Oops! As I was about to post the above, I realized that I thought you were complaining about a grammar-Nazi-from-Hell thread. Since you didn't word it that way (except in my vivid imagination), I guess I'm safe.
Well, i had RL problems (exams, etc), so i wasn't very active on either BD or BSG chars, and especially not on [W].
I am sorry about that, but my time for Freelancer is very low at the moment.
I have like 10 characters, but play only 1 actively (if it can be called that way, like 30 minutes a day.), because it is my first faction on Disco.
I am one of the people who just love small factions like Hogosha, Farmers, Unioners, Gaians etc.
I as well think that those factions need something of theirs so they can interest people to join them.
Dopamino and the rest said "It's not by the RP for Unioners to have their Gunship", but he tends to forget that he is a member of an Outcast faction, and that is simply not the same.
He can't possibly understand what are the troubles with small factions and people getting on their characters in it, or even finding some people to recruit.
So, i really believe that Black Dragons will do better once they get their Black Dragon VHF (thanks to AoM).
And i hope if it happens, it will show the unbelievers that such little things can actually lure people to join such small factions.
Look at the Lane Hackers for example.
Only HF were Hackers in 4.83, as soon as LH Gunship showed up, everyone wants to be a Hacker.
Maybe for the wrong reasons, but at least it lures them, so they can have a sense of RP in such factions.
This has nothing to do with LH, they are a well organized Hacker faction, and i doubt Gunship had anything to do with them.
I was speaking of independents and all the rest.
Even Xenos have something of their own for god sake.
They have a different way of playing. They are restricted yes, but are terrorists.
But, Hogosha, Unioners and the rest of the factions using Civilian line of ships, simply don't have anything of their own, nothing unique.
There might be more reasons, but these are the ones that came on my mind.
Remember, small factions are not there to serve as RP to bigger factions.
Even though some people would want them as such, they are not.
I am sad of [W] breaking, as well as I am sad for -{BD}- being inactive.
But, -{BD}- will remain until next version, when they get their VHF, so we can see what's the situation then.
To you, [W] team, i wish all the best, and respect for a very good try to RP one of the smaller factions.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
I'm really depressed now. I know I wasn't really that active, but whenever I saw another Worker online I switched characters... Or tried. The past few weeks my ping on the server has been 190 for some reason and has only recently gotten better. Oh well.
