If you see Das Wilde with Rheinland guns mounted playing Rheinland police or something else, you rp that you don't know his ID and believe in his/her story, so why are people speaking about ID as a piece of equipment that exist inrp?
It would be stupid to have a norm that can be interpreted in two ways.
Well, I will throw the bone... people scan ships and judge people by their ID...
see somebody with smugler ID automaticaly You marked him as potential criminal or somebody who for shure will breake the law.
see a pirate ID - you automaticaly mrked him as a target or criminal, even if he just fly and do not attack or tax anybody.
RP server, mean that You have to play Your role, none of pirates will go around with his true identity writen on his forhead.
Well, if You see a somebody who disrupt the lines and tax or attack lawfull forces - well then by his actions You can mark him as a potential criminal/pirate/terrorist.
I got this situation, I fly in my bommer as a poor hobo, which begs for some spare money to the repair of vessel, I got Pirate ID <- well I could use Junker one, but then it will be no such fun (and I got some RP backgrount for this).
but every time I meet some BH or Police they just "engaging pirate" - no matter what I say...
IDs are OORP in my opinion. I mean i just made a new char. /restart corsair and headed for the freeport in theta.
I passed some outcasts and then a tridente and a sabre fired on me. Lvl 21 in a CSV. Got CDed a few times even.
"You have corsair ID."
"So what?"
"When you got a combat ship, you will die! Be warned!"
*facepalm and headdesk*
Why don't simply someone just writes a line in the rules like: ID is ooRP item, cuz blabla. Is the "cuz" that hard to
explain? I mean it's not the "gospel of server- hard to change cuz written in stone" , it just "the server rules".
3 simple words in the server rules to clarify what an ID is. "ID is OORP" or "ID is INRP". One clarification and
the whole discussion and confusion about RPness of IDs can be flushed down the toilet at last.
We got high performance DNA scanners who can show the cop that you had once stole an apple years ago
and our scanners are programmed to read your papers in your pocket.
"ENGAGING SMUGGLER" with empty cargo,
"YouHogshaDiePirat" just for being here doing nothing,
"MercanaryLeafsystam" at the front of a jump gate getting stuck in a NPC traffic jam,
"IFFwithOtherIDHahaNOOB!" it's self-explanatory
...
the list continues, want me to write more? If yes, beware of wall of text.
Quote:To think they're oorp is incredibly daftttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
Well someone has to take the pros and someone has to take the cons
Quote:They are the basis of the rules of your RP .
fixed
Quote:They say to others who you are (along with IFF)
"ZonerLeafSystam!" in Gamma flying a Harvester Drone with AI ID.
If you ask me, the only reason why IDs can be "seen" is to see if someone can boss you around to improve
his/her ego.
No offense mate, but sometimes i really dare to believe that if someone is to lazy to RP he just reads other's
IDs, which leads me to the conclusion that his RP capabilities become inevitably limited to stereotype level.
IDs made for new players, who arent know RP of factions, who havent wisited serve, who havent red thouse pointles RP bla-bla-bla text about unreal world and actions. They dont know, why cruiser cant pirat, that you cant use BS with freelancer ID, that BHG CORE on cruisers can't fly in home systems e.t.c.
But they see some information in ID (If they understand english) they trying to do like there is written.
