It's a straightforward, brief and simple question.

Why is:
BHG tech for IMG ID - white cell; but
IMG tech for BHG ID - red cell ?

I just can't help myself but take an obviously critical point of view on this, as i'm finding the BHG ID to be overly restrictive.

I keep asking myself the question - why did i pick BHG ID as a ground for starting my own faction ? It doesn't make any sense, the BHG ID gets close in terms of restrictions to Vigilante ID. I would be better off with a Mercenary ID, i could work wherever i want, for whoever i want and request almost any tech i want too.

SO the only difference, is the caps.

Does the fact that BHG ID can fly caps, and has it's own capship line -alone- a good reason to nerf it so much ?

Edit.
My single, most important point of this semi-rant is, that i find it weird that friendly factions have red cells between them, and the BHG-IMG thing is the perfect example.

The BHG ID is the ID of the Bounty Hunters Guild NPC faction. Said faction has its own shipline, which is suppose to be high quality. If you work for the guild, you will most likely be flying guild vessels.

I'll check myself in a second but I'm pretty sure other similar military factions have the same restrictions.

It's gunboat weaponry I'm talking about... since well, most of you know people opinion on Orca...

So really, what is the reason for that particular tech restriction?

Yeah... No.

BHG weapons are what I'd term as underpowered, as their advantages (slight speed/range buffs) are not great enough to balance out their disadvantages (power drain, lack of damage).

Also, there are several squares where I feel the BHG should be white as opposed to red, and I have no idea why almost everyone is red to the BHG.

People are misreading this. Currently, IMG ID'd ships -can- request BHG tech since it's a white cell. BHG -cannot- request IMG tech since it's a red cell.

IMG| has requested this to be changed to a white cell. BHG has superior fighter weaponry (in my opinion anyway) but it's capship weaponry is inferior to just about any faction. It's mainly the gunboat and cattlebruiser wielding folks I think that would appreciate the switchover - to gain access to the IMG gunboat and cruiser guns.

Better idea: Just fix the BHG cap guns by toning down their energy consumption, or upping their damage a little.
