would it be posible to hire an barge and pilot it my self?

i was thinking like this.

i get a barge for loan, i fly for a day , at end of the the owner of the hired barge get a percentage of the profits and the .movechar code to move it back to his/her acount.

would it be a good idea or would it be to much?

Renting ships has been thought of before.

Though I think the main problem is the guarantee of getting your ship back. I think there was an admin notice about shared ships and the responsibility of sharing your ships or something... renting or hiring ships counts as sharing in this case (I believe)

If I recall right, there was attempt of Spazzy (I might be wrong in the person) to make renting ship shop, at the end it didn't work out as the admins didn't back him up.

Impliment a /tempmove command? Does the same as movechar, but you put in a certain amount of hours. I see no downside to zhis.

Another way to do this would be to contact someone who has a Barge and 'rent' it from them with the owner as pilot and you as escort/scout.

This way you would get an EXPERIENCED Barge pilot, which would be a good thing, plus you would get some experience as an Escort/Scout.

Hmm i can imagine why the admins wont suport. about the same reason as with the loans.

darn. ahwel back to trade with my titanic till i have enough for my own barge.
