Apparently because of chatlogging, I can't connect to the server. I find it in the server list, and can occassionaly get through to see my character list (have tried this on multiple accounts). When I go to load up a character, the Loading bar pops up, then I get the infamous "Please wait. The requested operation is taking longer than expected." It'll pop back to a loading bar for about a half second after 20 or so seconds of waiting, then back to the "please wait" message... then I get disconnected and sent back to the Server Select screen.

I've also received the message of intermittent problems or whatever it is, without even making it to the character page. I can connect to other disco servers, and I've also added the -s78.46.88.87 to the command line in a futile attempt to solve the problem.

-w -logchat -logappend -logtime -localtime -s78.46.88.87 is what I have on the command line, but my character appears to load when I take it down to just -w.

Any idea how to fix this? I'd like to use the chat logging.

Also turned on run as admin, no avail. I feel like I've seen a thread about this, but I can't find it. -.-

I would like to add that this is very important to me as well. This guy is a good guy, a disco vet, and he owes my friends and I some credits from a loan. /Signed, for what it's worth.

If you have to put -s78.46.88.87 into the command line to see the server then your mod is not installed properly and the server will kick you.

Your comments about -logchat tend to suggest that this is the case as this shouldn't impact connections to the server.

Please test your connection using this: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93689

And please check that you installed your mod using this: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44642

What OS are you running?

I typically don't use the -s command, I just thought it may resolve the issue, and it didn't.

Will run the two tests now and bump with results.

Running Windows 7, 32bit.

Pretty sure I'm all installed correctly. Took a fresh installation of Freelancer on my external (installed to F:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer) then copied that over to F:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Disco485 or something of the like. Have had zero problems running the game so far. Though I could understand that the chatlogging thing is unusual and may disagree with my method of installation.

As far as FLMM, installed the mod over it, and have left it there since. No mod changing or anything. I put Disco on and that's all that's happened since I made the new installation.

Worth noting, I suppose, that when I /ping in-game, it takes about 45 seconds to get a response sometimes, and my last two pings were:

Ping: 162ms Fluct: 2ms Loss: 23% Lag: 0%
Ping: 163ms Fluct: 2ms Loss: 22% Lag: 0%

That was about 5 min ago.

EDIT: /drawcash Is taking just as long, if not longer. Upwards of about 5 min atm. Though I'm not sure if this is at all related to the chat logging thing, since right now I'm playing without the chatlog command line options. Can't get any more pings to go through either, though I am getting death messages.

Quadruple post... now the lag has magically disappeared. I get instant ping replies and they are:

Ping: n/a Fluct: n/a Loss: n/a Lag: 8%

Was lagging to the point that I got disconnected from the server, then couldn't reconnect. So I turned off my wifi then back on, and now we're good.

I bet it comes back though, heh.

EDIT: Appears chatlogging has nothing to do with the problem. It must just be some sort of intermittent server issue on my end?
