Junker Gunboat?

For whatever it's worth, ole' Sinbad the Junker owned a Rogue GB for ages, but just traded it in for a Starflier this past weekend.
Personally, I loved that ship.

Rogue Gunboat. It looks really Junker-ish in my Opinions.

Thinking of changing one of my charcters over to one in the near future.

In a perfect world I would go along with a refitted mining ship.

However, I feel that the BHG gunboat is the most realistic option. It's obsolete, and therefore shouldn't be too hard to find either a wreck/mothball/"for sale, used".

Perhaps I'm not the typical Junker, but I'm strictly "legal" and hang around New York scavenging parts and selling equipment. For me, protecting that legal status would be paramount to prevent every police and military authority breathing down my neck. That's why I'd avoid any of the pirate gunboats. The BHG is just a hunk an old hunk of junk, so I'd doubt too many people would bat an eye towards its use these days.

IMG and Kusari would be easily acquired and street legal, but they lose the Junker feeling since they don't feel scavenged enough.

Just my thoughts.

voted for rogue gunboat:

if it is true and junkers like the outcast side slightly more - rogues are a good choice. furthermore, the rogue gunboat appears to be very basic, easy to maintain and rather rough. compared to the LH gunship which is sophisticated with many round edges, its much harder to repair / maintain.

IMG gunboat might work, too - but i am not sure how much the IMG would really sell a gunboat to the junkers. they are not involved in smuggling and the IMG suffers greatly from the outcasts, which are one of the providers of the junkers wealth.

BHG gunboat may work as a salvaged vessel, but only in small numbers, not as something to fly around on a regular base. - but i don t see many BHG gunboats in omega-15 for example, so the idea of having a salvaged gunboat from BHGs there is not given.

every ship of mine that is tagged as IMG has Junkers red as ruby...so one could say that there is some tensions there

Rouge GB is perfect until you find something better suited...and is in fact one hell of a ship...

M26... I concurr. It's rust brown and looks like a crappy used and abused toolbox. Certainly something that you could muster up from a scrap field. It also doesn't do anything for the looks of Corsair ships. I think we should change its name and get the Corsairs a better one... One that fits their ship-looks.

-The OMG-Pretty... Umm... I forget it's name. Their Battleship.
-The... *cough* Odd looking Cruiser (yet still cool)
-The shiny, smooth, tank with a messed up hitbox, Titan.
-The Preatyre (I think?) The bomber that looks like a Titan with a green cockpit, but still, cool looking and fits Corsair ship structure.
-And last... And least... A rusty... Something. It looks like it was carved out of an iron asteroid and had engines stuck in it. Perhaps desgined by George Foreman. Or Billy Mays. Or Duralast.

Lancer, I don't think you should use any of those!

You should get a mining ship, and call it a gunboat! It's what I think a junker would do!

That is what I do. Hersteller is my money-maker but I also like to treat it as a gb. I plan to keep the mining ship for that char and get the best armor for it someday. It looks very junkerish and it gets the job done. I have also found that against a single player heavy fighter the mining ship can easily hold its own and has a great cargo bay to boot.

As for the others ships, rogues and junkers are close, I see nothing against them having a rogue gb.

Hacker gb....it looks too new and polished. I wouldn't fly it as a Junker for just that reason.

The bhg gb....Junkers are known to get that kind of stuff from scrap. I think it would work for rp to create the idea that the ship was just lying around and a junker took it. Same with Corsair gb. After all the RH PR cruiser is bought from a Junker base and it is hessian built. I still get people telling me Forschung shouldn't fly that, but hey, it is an old outdated design...therefor Junkers acquired it.

If you want a big challenge in a RP sense. Use a Rheinland Gunboat
Say you spent the last 2 years fixing it from a totaled RH GB near Yangei Depot left from the GMG/RH war in S13

Junkers are known for collecting scrap and either repurposing it or selling it.
if you head to S13, there are many Rheinland capital ships lying around broken with Yangei Depot right beside it all. Junkers must be up to something dont you think?
with the right RP behind a Junker tagged/IDed RH GB, it could be a great challenging experience

But if you think its too OORP if not used correctly(RH GB), The Corsair GB works the best.
It looks old, its big, rusty and it looks like something you can find in scrap fields.
