No, Fraps is not the best one possible. Wegame is actaully a better recorder cause A: No "<Recorder Program>" at the top and bottom and B: Much better quality, even at "Half Size" recording. Just need to make a account on Wegame.com, download the installer and the obvious. If you cant get the Wegame to work with a game or program, set permissions to have "Administrative Rights"(Don't worry, its not that big of a deal). Having a Wegame account also allows you to have your videos uploaded to your account on the Wegame server. Everything you record and screenshot is saved on your PC and then you can upload what you want and delete the rest if theyre not what you want.
Also with this post, I need some help with a video Im trying to make. Thing is, I need a great number of people and either certain ships or simply just large battles taht dont involve having ships ram each other unless the ship ramming goes through. I need the videos to basiclly be a battle or a flyby of alot of ships, a mix perfered. If you are willing to do this, make sure to include the names of anyone that is willing to be in the video. If you have Fraps, dont sweat it, I have Sony Vegas 9 Pro and I already have a "Imitation 16:9" Black strip overlay. Videos should be equal resolution, my ingame res. is 1024x768 32 bit. If a number of you can do higher, taht would be great. I will need a DL link for the video, so remember that or its a no-go.
Every video ive ever recorded for.. anything, has been with fraps.
there is no water mark on my videos, the quality of the original fraps is just as it would be if you were to open the game and play it, the quality of your own encode of that file is all down to what compression ratio you use. "even at half size" as you put it. I don't have to use administrative rights to use it, it starts when i turn on my PC so i dont need to mess about with it. I dont need to sign up to some crappy service to just go ingame and fraps stuff and be able to upload it, fraps saves all your stuff to its root directory and the names for each video/image are time stamped so there is never a problem finding a screenshot.
coupled with things most online gamers have such as file hosting accounts like media fire or simple image hosting accounts like photobucket, imageshack and of course video stuff like Youtube.
you can record upload and share anything you want at any time. fraps is also 2MB install.
it is good enough that ive never needed to look anywhere else, ever.
I use Wegame reguardless, but thats besides the point. I have little to record and all that cause of my School. If any of you can get some recordings, thanks. I want to make the video and post it later on the forums when I get done wit it. Its a matter of getting the materials and I have only a few to do what I want.
Added: Forgot to mention, recordings should have the HUD disabled, which the cmd for running the game on start is on the forums.
