The press conference didn't meet the expected interest and with only two news agencies sending their representatives, Andrei Severus decided to change this to a exclusive interview. Of course, he wanted to say a few things before allowing the reporters to ask questions.

Welcome to Omicron Theta! First, I would like to thank you for being here and I hope you spent the few days here with pleasure.

Alright so, let's begin. I decided to become the administrator of this station after seeing that people needed Freeport 9 to fuel their research expeditions into the deep space of the Omicrons. Since this base was not actively administrated by anyone, they were asking the Omicroners or just come here without talking to anyone, and even if this is a freeport, sometimes the materials that those researchers bring here are... dangerous.

Now I'm not planning on changing many things around here. There were no problems around Nine for the past 5 months and I intend to keep it like that. I contacted the major zoner groups and other freeport administrators and informed them of this change and most of the replies were kind and I believe they're happy that this station has a proper administrator.

Now, if you got wish to ask any questions...

Alexia Feros had her questions prepeared on her small data-pad so it wasn't hard for her to pick one.

[font=agency fb]Mr. Severus, Freeport 9 experienced some security issues some time ago, when the Corsairs decided to attack... How can the station defend itself if such problems emerge once again?

Straight to that point, eh? Hopefully there won't be such situations again... but to answer your question, I'm planning a few things for the station. First, a new shield generator, more powerful than the one we have now. Its construction is still on hold due to some technical difficulties but as soon as we pass them, I want the new shields on the station. Secondly, there is an agreement with a few groups that will send their ships in case of danger. I can't tell who these groups are for obvious reasons. And the third point it's actually an experiment of mine. For the last three months I've been in contact with a sentient machine, a cruiser class ship armed to the teeth and that's acting as a central node for a wing of smaller drones. I tried to understand its purpose and it seems it didn't had one so I gave it one. Now that cruiser is considered station security. I'm really excited about this discovery and I feel more secure. You can spot those drones patrolling from time to time or even the cruiser if you're lucky.

You said that some researchers were bringing dangerous materials to the station. Can you give us a few details? What materials, what researchers? Why were they bringing them here?

I won't give you the identities of those researchers but I can tell you about the materials. Some of them were alien artifacts that had a high risk level as shown by our experts, other were bringing devices that were using unstable fuel. All kind of things. Some of them were safe but the Freeport 9 were still worried. Now, we will have a better control over these commodities.
