Lol dude. I guess a lot of you guys are new to this because u didn't have the ENBSeries effect enabled in 85. Don't worry, it's nothing that's bugging your installation or whatever. And the strobing screen is nothing new either. But I do wish they would fix that, it annoys the hell out of me, and I feel bad for people with epilepsy...

Already did that before 4.86 hit. no joy.

Weird thing is, it only affects some bs of mine.

An issue with multiple models was identified and resolved by Cannon - but will require a client patch to get this sorted. Should be one fairly soon. It'll hopefully fix the LM, BS missiles and a legion of other intermittent crashes (prolly Burgundy as well)

what the HELL are CMP files im curious as to what five ships got updated and how they were

I think they're textures for ships/guns/stations/planets.

Nope. CMPs contain the geometry and animations for models. Short for CoMPound file. It's basically a cluster of 3DB shapes and the interactions between these described. Most objects in Freelancer are CMPs in model, although some simple ones (rocks, nomad ships) are 3DBs.

Textures and glow effects on them are in the MAT files, although in some cases they can be included in the model file as well. The hitboxes are in the SUR files. Planet textures are another story again.
