As a civilian corporation, we at Corona Battlegroup have used your shipline in the past and have nothing but respect for your ship designs. As for the purpose of this message, Corona Battlegroup would like to request an order of several customized Renzu ships. This request will be divided into two parts.
First of all, we would like to request the construction of 3 Saishi Class Heavy Fighters and 5 Touketsu Class Very Heavy Fighters with the following customizations if possible:
Improved scientific scanning equipment(even our security division is sometimes tasked with scientific research projects)
Hardened cockpit windows(for extended flights in the dense asteroid fields that can be found in parts of our home system of Kansas)
Increased bandwith for neural net uploading and downloading(to help relay important scans and information back to larger science vessels)
Probe dispenser units(must fit the 5cm radius sphere probes we use for longterm data tracking)
The second request stems from the need for a flagship for our science division. While we do have the CBW-Scarlet Pride to use as a primary base of operations until the Junction Reconstruction finishes its final stage, we have decided that a separate flagship for the science division would be predunt. The CBW-Scarlet Pride does not only serve as a base of operations but also as a defensive measure which means it may not always be able to be where are researcher need to be, which would not be a problem if we had a separate flagship for our science division. We will admit, our original plan was to go with the seemingly cheaper option of buying a second hand Enterprise Luxury Liner and refit it ourselves for research and development purposes. However, after further research we discovered that you in fact produced the Shukensha Liner which on paper is much more expensive then the other option. However, we were lead to understand that each Shukensha Liner was custom made to order for the buyer and if we would not have to modify the ship ourselves it would save both money and manpower. We are interested in knowing if you would be able to produce a Shukensha Liner that would built from the ground up for research and development purposes. We will go into more detail about what we require when we know if you are up to the task.
As for payment, we can compensate your organization in two ways. We can provide R&D support with one or more of your corporations projects in that area or pay you a sum of credits that you feel is fair. This is of course in addition to the standard construction fees for said ships.
From:Saki Taiyou To:Jacob Gordon Re:Custom Ship Request
Konnichiwa Mr. Gordon,
I'm glad to say, that your requested ship customizations are all more or less easy to implement.
We will take your requested ships in order as soon as possible.
I'd also relayed that message to our Field Research Analyst, Kei Marwick. You will hear from him soon, so you can discuss further details.
Besides, we'd be quite interested in joint research, but we can talk more about that another time.
So this was pretty much all in a few sentences.
We'll stay in touch with you.
I am glad to hear that our request modifications are a possibility and I have talked our research and development division. They told me that the best way of going about modifying the Renzu Liner for research purposes is to simply half the amount of living quarters and then leaving the other half, along with any other space that is not required for the ship to operate, empty. This will allow the researcher, scientists, and engineers aboard the modified liner to use the area as they see fit since projects change over time and the research space would need to as well.
As for payment for the modifications, would you prefer credits or access to our services in the research and development fields. I also look forward to hearing from your Field Research Analyst, Kei Marwick, as well.
My apologies, Captain, for any inconvenience brought about by my vacation. I understand that the galaxy stops spinning for no man, but every man must take some time now and then to clear the spinning in his head.
I have looked over your proposals and I see no reason why we cannot perform the necessary modifications. There will be costs, such massive reconstructions are always costly, but no physical bars to the proposition. I do have some questions for you, just to be certain we build the exact ships you are looking for.
First, you are looking for improved scanning capability and probe dispensing units. We have found we need similar capabilities and have already designed and implemented a solution to both problems. We have a line of modified cruise disrupters that act as both probes and remote scanning suites. If you are interested in these, I am sure we can fit the launchers and a supply of the drones to your new ships.
Second, your purpose for purchasing one of our liners is research. Are you going to want a launch bay to carry one or two of your modified snub craft for defensive measures, as well? And have you thought of purchasing one or two of our Anki freighters to augment your fleet? The Anki makes an excellent research platform and is very handy at such tasks as collecting Alien Organisms.
I'd like to get the details fleshed out for you as soon as we can. In the meantime, I've gone ahead and approved the construction of the hulls you ordered. Barring any unforseen difficulties in the details we should be able to get your ships to you within a month or two.
Yours Sincerely,
Kei Marwick, Head of Research and Development.
Renzu Corporation
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I have been a bit under the weather last few days and have not been able to respond to your message until now. Now onto your suggestion. As for your modified cruise disruptor probes, we would simply prefer a simple dispenser unit as we have already developed our own probe system that we have used on larger ships already and there is no guarantees that they would be compatible with your current system. We might be willing to change our minds on the subject if you were to send us the system's specs so we can check any compatibility issues with our current system.
As for the Renzu Liner launch bays, I personally think this is a brilliant idea and would gladly approve two being added to the current design.
Lastly, after discussing it with the rest of the Corona Battlegroup's leadership, we have decided that we would like to buy three Anki freighter with similar customization of the Fighters we are using.
We would also like to know how you want us to repay you for the customization of said ships. As said before we can either provide R&D services to your company on a project you might need outside help, or we can pay in credits.
From: Kei Marwick, Renzu Corporation To: Jacob Gordon Re: Ships
Konichiwa,
I believe that it is in the best interests of Renzu if payment is made in the form of Credits. Our research needs are, sadly, larger than your group can handle. We will be happy to negotiate the price, to work within your means, but I must warn you that such large amounts of reconstruction and design are expensive. At a minimum we are looking at 20,000,000 for the liner, and that only accomodates one fighter bay. The Anki's will, of course, be far cheaper. I don't see that they should cost more than 4,000,000 all together to redesign and fabricate. If your company needs an itemized report of the costs I will be happy to provide it.
As you already have a drone deployment system and suite I will simply leave the mounts open. I find it is best to work with existing and well known components when possible. The fighter bay's shouldn't be to much of a problem, as we have performed similar redesigns for other customers. It's simply a matter of time and effort.
Yours Sincerely,
Kei Marwick, Head of Research and Development.
