I may be wrong.. but I remember the original argument from the Keepers faction/leadership was that they did not want Nomad kill missions because it would "cheapen" killing nomads, and everyone would do it.
Something like that.. anyhow...
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
and all those nomad npcs you kill flying through the omicrons?
Anyway, yeah, I asked for this ages ago, and I see no reason why they shouldnt be implemented. I think its good that you could get valuble nomad stuff, that adds extra excitement, just make nomad missions reall hard to counter that. And if pirates start picking on nomad hunters, good, thats more activity.
The reason I quit the Order was because they seemed more focussed on fighting humans (with only anti human missions) than their actual enemies!

Yes, I remember this argument as well. It's based on putting the Nomad on a pedestal: It's ok to grind missions vs. BH, Corsairs, Junkers, ALG, etc. However, Nomads are such rare and wonderful entities it would be a shame to have them end up as another target on a mission roster.
Puh-leeze.
As far as "everyone" killing Nomads for profit, the remedy is simple: Lower the value of Nomad remains.

That's my thoughts. All you really need to do is sit outside of Kappa or Primus and wait for the gunboats and fighters to show up. Shoot them down, rinse, repeat.
Heck, if you're a hunter, just undocking from Daba tends to get you attacked by 4 Nomad fighters. Sit there, shoot them down, wait a couple minutes, they respawn, rinse, repeat.
That's one of the ways my old Freelancer in an Orca used to make scads of money. Sit in Delta and kill Nomads by the hour - harvest 'em, and then make the run over to Cambridge when his cargo hold was full. Sell the guns that fell off (4.84) to the BHG|Core for their research.

This works when server population is low. If you're unable to log on during said time, you're out of luck.

I planned to do this, untill I saw that nomads sold for less profit than the ore that can come out in larger amounts, from shooting a rock, which cant dodge or fight back, and taking it a much shorter distance.
Then I laughed.

Nomnom missions were planned for 4.86 but the work wasn't sufficient bug free it time and so they didn't make it. Much more mission work is planned for 4.87.
