Basically this thread is to find a game I remember from a long time ago(or heck even one that is similar) but cant find. I searched and searched and I cant find it at all, largely because I don't remember the name but oh well.
OK, so onto the description of what I know. It was a multi-player top down space simulator/shooter. It was team based in that at the beginning of a game both sides had a station at one side of a map with a large asteroid field in the middle separating them. You started in a small ship and flew around mining the asteroids to get resources that you could use to get bigger and better ships back at your base, but you had to be careful because the other team would also be mining in the field and fights would break out if you found each other. Once your ship was upgraded you flew around hunting the other team's ships, fighting, ect ect. I assume eventually one side blew up the other team's base but I'm guessing I don't actually remember the win conditions. Also it wasn't like you would build up your ship for months or anything it was much more short term.
So what I want to know is if anyone knows of or remembers a game like this and if they cant point me to it. And well if not... then I guess I have an idea for a game I want to build someday.

I looked at the Infantry game and I'm pretty sure that I remember the bug hunt, zone from around the same time, so probably is what I remembered. The little bit of forum chatter I saw while I searched said that it used to be pay to play as well and that makes sense cause I remember not being able to play as every unit. If "Fleet" really was part of that game then its down now according to some forum posts I saw.
Oh well thanks for telling me what the game that has been nagging at the back of my mind for years is, looks like i'm gonna have to learn to program faster so I can make a version of it that is even better.
