Just got back from watching this game, by Christ it was a nut clincher.
England should have won, we owned the first 20 minutes, and that was it. Though Scott Williams really redeemed himself with that lone try. I'm gutted I lost both my bets (DAMN THAT ANKLE TAP ON NORTH!!), but that last TV decision on the England possible try? That was NOT a try, and thank god the referee agreed. No pressure applied, at worst it was a knock on from us.
Still, I bet five pounds that George North would score the first try, and another five on Wales beating England by 11-16 points.
Thank God for Scott Williams in the end, but hard lines England. The game was an excellent one, at least in the first half. Both sides attacked and defended excellently, too bad about the penalties.
I will say, England SHOULD have had an automatic red card with the dangerous manoeuvre in the lineout, I mean we get sent off in the world cup for a 'horizontal dump tackle', while taking someone out in mid-air and not attempting to break their fall in the line out, isn't even deemed a penalty? SOD THAT.
Rugby? Blah. I don't watch any sports anyway, but I suppose you could consider Rugby a bit more manly a sport than the wussies playing football (English version, not American). Admittedly this was several days ago, but I couldn't help poking fun at you. I didn't know you liked exercise anyway, Fletcher;)
Oh and cool sig btw, animated version of Watership Down stuff.
Absurdly tight game, I was gritting my teeth at the SU when they were deliberating whether to grant england the try or not. Sadly it was not meant to be, and my Welsh housemates destroyed me, nevermind, exciting game!
Dream Theater - "Sabre120 and Jongleur officially win. That is all."
' Wrote:The way I see it, England didn't deserve it the way they played the last twenty minutes; Wales didn't play great either, especially in the first half.
First 20 minutes we dominated, then we went downhill. Second half was an array of turnovers.
