' Wrote:Yo. Been at a Manga/Anime/Book-Convention today, and also watched a Cosplay Contest. I was quite surprised at the amount of dedication these guys and girls put into their costumes, performances and all that.
I thought about it and I'd go for something like that, too, since I'm a huge Anime/Manga fan myself. Maybe at the next Convention around here.
Anyone of you a Cosplayer ? How do you get started ? I kinda' feel silly to just order a costume at ebay or something. Too bad I can't sew on my own...other options ? Any tips ?
Blonde your hair, get a brown leather jacket and Trent up the place
Would've gotten a few more, also saw stuff like Panty & Stocking, which were smoking hot, but I left my camera at home, and the only area where I could take pictures was the main hall, others were too dark.
The local con's next theme is 'Neon Future' so I'm probably going to be adapting that to a JC Denton (Original Deus Ex) cosplay, which should be pretty awesome.
Now I just need to work out how to build a GEP gun.
Cosplaying is so much fun at a convention haha, every year I go to 2 conventions. Even if you don't have friends to go with, still go; you will always meet friends and they will stick with you through the entire con. You don't need a cosplay though so have fun, or even a simple cosplay will do. I for one have spent 500$ on a cosplay and many hours of work getting it perfect haha XD If anyone has seen Hetalia Axis Powers, I cosplayed as Succession France, had it custom tailored and everything XD Previous cosplays Light Yagami (Death Note), Itachi (Naruto), Roxas (Kingdom hearts [And man was this cosplay HOT in the summer time, being synthetic leather jacket in the middle of summer XD]) each cosplay different variation (Like casual and adding tails and neko ears haha). I encourage anyone to at least try to cosplay if you go to a con, it's fun as hell specially if you get a big group and go to a local mall after:PThat's always a blast in the food court with everyone staring.
