Would be very, very useful so people could vary with lighter civilian craft, nowadays only debis are that what you could slow compared to the laser and particle guns on lvl 8-9.

I would really like to see at least 2 guns, one 2.0 the other 4.0 or so, hope someone has same things in mind because civ. LF is nowadays allways pretty much the same all the time..

Every time the idea of slower refire and speed civillian guns gets brought up, there is almost always some bright spark that says "just use codies". I think sure why not, log my Griffin or Falcon and go np np. Wait a sec, Heavy Fighters and Light Fighters can't mount codies?.

Low refire civillian weapons have been suggested on these forums for as long as I've been here. Its a good idea and can be easily balanced to have the worst stats in the game. But for some reason the devs have decided not to go down this path. Maybe this will change in future, and hopefully a dev will see this thread and see that people are still interested in this.

Hmm, yes I still remember 4.82, some years ago it was the same. A shame that they didn't change that. Good now you can pew around with kraken or whatsoever without beeing sanctionlanced but still that would be a awful method for me as I want my full energy core and it is plenty ridiculous that there is a Civ SNAC but no slow civ weapon.

InRP that would show that Freelancers can build military grade bomber weapons but not much less effective smaller guns (?)

Or well, hell give all LF's/HF's class 10 mounts and noone would bother you with that dev's. But well, I'd appreciate simple civ. guns more for.

Why not update 4? Player owned stations and jumpdrives.. I mean hey that is pretty much impossible with Freelancer but they can't get out 2 sloppy guns ? :s

They're on the drawing board for 4.87 yes. Neutron type, 600 or 650m/s, short range, high (for civvy guns) damage, reasonable efficiency. Why not sooner? Ensuring those guns are balanced, is a pain in the rear. Plus, you first have to define the gun, the ammo (standard guns also use "ammo" which they automatically generate), the fire/projectile/impact effects, and the commodity item, for each weapon in the series. Then you need to define the weapon on the bases it's sold on. Considering a new weapon series consists of usually 3 guns (L7, 8, 9) and 2 turrets (L1 and 2), that's a lot of work. So no, not for update 4, or even the final.
