"It has been a long time since I have been in regular contact with you, Voss. I do believe it's time to change that, no? I've been surviving on half-rations poached from those Liberty bastards and H-fuel from their transports for months now. I've been stuck in Liberty and just managed to get this transmission out. Do tell if you're receiving it, old friend."

"Your transmission has been received, you had command worried and we were going to write you and your boat off as Killed In Action, but to hear you are alive is astonishing considering how isolated you have been from the main fighting force.
What is your current status and location?"

"It's been damn crazy this past week, Herman. I've been making feinting runs in Magellan and California frequently. I've even had the odd chance of seeing a Gallic warship and Gallic Junkers fly by in ships I can only classify as -Extremely Dangerous-. It's damn hell out here, sir. I'd request reinforcements, but from what I am hearing over the airwaves is that some of the newer Kapitans are losing their boats quicker than the homefront can replace them. The scanners read quiet far too often for my liking, I'm not sure how long I can last behind enemy lines. I had to kill Lieutenant Ludendorff; he attempted a coup yesterday. I had him shot and thrown out an airlock. It's becoming desperate. He wasn't alone, but he was the one who wanted to surrender to the Libertonians. I'll be damned if I let this technology fall into the hands of the enemy. Any word on a way out is helpful. The jumpholes we used just last year are all watched by Naval ships and have cruiser patrols frequenting them... the jump gates have recently been secured by bomber patrols. I've been able to slip in and out of Cortez and Magellan only because they haven't managed to get the manpower out here yet."
