Amanda looked to the horizon out of her command ship, the Siren's Calling. The Royal forces were about to come through the jump hole any second, and she had a surprise for them.
Kenji was on-board his sabre, escorting the gunboat while it prepared to attack out of its ambush. "Amanda, are you sure about this? I mean, we don't know what we are facing except for a supply convoy. We don't know the number of escorts, what ships and not even exact arrival time!"
"Oh don't worry darling, it can't be too bad, can it? Just a supply convoy..." Her voice broke down as a energy burst hit the ship's shields and brought them down to 90% "Kenji, we are under attack!"
As she said it, overwhelming numbers of Royal fighters and bombers emerged out of the Gaian cloud, taking by surprise the Fifth Cell ships. Nearly all of the members were there on the various ships, Amanda managed to catch for short moment Kenji's sabre going up in flames when the ship started to retreat. The Flying Dutchman has already managed to pull off, flying into the myst. The Cell's fighters embraced kamikaze tactics and rammed to death enemy bombers to cover up Siren's Calling retreat.
The Siren's Calling managed to pull off, but on a heavy price. The communication array freighter was lost, so were nearly all of the snub craft it had in possession. Of the remaining high guardians only Amanda was to be found, and the crew of the Siren's Calling that survived the onslaught consisted of merely 15 men.
Amanda set on the commander chair and looked with an empty face to the void. Totally dismissing the fact that she hasn't heard from any of her crew for at least an hour. She heard the sound of loading a gun, but before she managed to react.
Amanda opened her eyes. She looked above on one of her top assassins - Dexter Smith, a former contact inside the Xeno movement, before he was called back in line, he was one of the few in the organisation that wasn't brainwashed at all. She looked behind her shoulder and saw a dead Royal Marine who probably managed to infiltrate her ship.
"Ma'am, he managed to take out most of the crew, but there is enough to pilot it to take out some trade vessel, salvage the hull and make a good fix in some desolated area."
She walked to the Royal marine's body, took his gun, and threw the body from the nearest airlock. "We'll need to gather crew, Gaians won't be able to be in our back for quite a time I assume so better to stay small, raiding marines, technicians and so on" She told him as she closed back the airlock.
"Alright Ma'am, but where we will get them? We can't brainwash anymore, all of our gear was on-board other ships" He said, with a lot of worrying in his voice. Amanda had a half-sad smile on her face "time to redeem old debts. Set coordinates to Omicron Theta, got some idealists we can get" Dexter looked with a questioning look at her, she laughed, "Slaves can be very grateful if you save them from Corsairs, and there are a couple of corsairs that owns me quite a bit."
