Me a few of my friends all got together on Discovery Freelancer and decided it would be in our best interest to try and name ourselves under a specific tag, so we can easily idenify each other, and others can easily identify us. However, after reading through the faction creation rules and creation guides, i'm wondering what is considered a "faction" and what are the limits to how large we can make our group? We do not intend to own any systems in the short term, and the most we will purse is potentially a station or two set around the liberty area (Which we are able to pay the 60 million monthly tax). Do we need to pay an admin 500 million credits, Does our leader need to be level 60 or higher, What exactly are our boundries? I would love to know.
TLDR:
Are small groups/clans required to go through all the procedures as if they were a fully developed faction? And what are the restrictions of these smaller groups? (Tags, IDs, etc.)
If you fly under one tag you should have same ID and IFF for all ships under the tag- nothing else- I fly BHG ship with a friend like that- I am not in BHG group.
[font=Comic Sans Ms]Fly with the same ID / IFF combination, and you can have as many friends in the group as you want. There are no sign ups / creation rules required. Just fly, follow the server rules, and have fun!
......
By the way, have you given the Junkers' Congress a looksie? We trade, smuggle, fight Xenos and Gallics, and are a great choice for those who are interested in a bit of politicing while in space and on the forums!
Pritty much what they said. you can make your own group. But unless you plan to officially represent that faction you dont have to do any official faction stuff. Aslong as every ship in your faction has the same id and iff. The ID and IFF dont have to match each other. But aslong as they make sense its a go.
