An Anki flew through Manhattan's atmosphere. The pilot found the meeting spot, a private corner of a landing pad containing a Claymore, a Basilisk, and a Ravens Talon. The freighter landed between the two fighters, and a panel on one of the cargo pods opened. Two figures ran out, one small and covered in a robe, and the other seeming to be a hologram. The two ran up the Claymore's open loading ramp, stopping when they met the pilot in the lobby.
Izzy was standing in the tiny lobby, consulting her pda. She stood out from the gunmetal-grey walls in her green miniskirt and blouse. When the two entered, she sesled the ramp and turned her side to them.
"My cabin. To your left." She said, not bothering to pay attention. Not her buisness; it was Alex's. She just offered her flashy vessel as the perfect hiding place.
In the cabin, Alexis would be sitting on the small cot, the yuri manga lying on her lap.
The two entered the cabin where Alexis was. As soon as they saw Alexis, the shorter figure dropped the robe that was covering her. Kaylynn looked to be in bad shape. Her hair was unkempt, her face was dirty, and her usual outfit of a jacket and a white skirt had rips and tears. Before Alexis could react, Kaylynn ran up and hugged her. The hologram took two steps into the room, closed the door, and remained silent.
Surprised by how bad Kaylynn looked, and even more surpised by Kaylynn's hug, Alexis takes a moment before hugging Kaylynn back tightly.
"There, there. You're safe now. You're safe." Alexis starts coming the girl's hair with her fingers. She sighs. "What did you do kiddo?" She asked. Kaylynn didn't act like this for no reason. What have you done sweetie...
Outside the door, Izzy leaned against the wall. Alexis did not ask for such...interesting favors everyday. Izzy frowned, eyes closed. Something was wrong.
It always was like that.
As soon as Alexis hugged Kaylynn back, she started crying. It wasn't for a few minutes until she was calm enough to speak. "Alexis, I was with the Order" she let out a few sobs. "I met a boy named Derek but he.." She was cut off as she started crying again. The hologram walked up to the two, a head materialized out of its body, a typical Libertonian male with a blank expression. "Allow me to introduce myself Miss Hunter, I am Mr.Smiles, a VI programmed by Kaylynn. If you'll allow me, I can explain what has happened since last November when she left."
Alexis strokes Kaylynn's hair, sighing. Ahe rubs Kay's back before looking at the VI.
"Go on. Let's hear it."
Alexis continues to hold Kaylynn close, comforting the girl. Alexis had never expected to be reunited with her friend in such a manner. Kaylynn was always so stoic. Alexis was almost afraid to hear the story.
With a sigh, she gently pulled Kaylynn down onto her lap, the smaller woman almost like her own daughter. She tucked Kaylynn's head,under hear chinn.
"Sh. Shh. It's all over. You're safe now." Alexis said, hoping to calm Kay down.
The hologram locked his hands behind his back and stood straight, as if a soldier addressing a superior. "Last November Kaylynn took control of an Aquilon, the Sunrise. She heard about Nomad activity in the Omicrons, so she hoped to participate in the action. It was during this time she created me to help control the ship." He raises his head, obvious proud. "It was also during this that Kaylynn met a man by the name of Derek Brook." Kaylynn shifted at the mention of the name. "They were friends, but it was obvious that Kaylynn cared for him in a more romantic fashion. She was planning on telling him on New Years, but..Well, I'm sure you heard about the destruction of Omicron Minor by the Nomads, correct?" The VI paused for a moment. "It was in the battle that destroyed the planet where Mr. Brook perished. The Isis overloaded its core in an attempt to destroy the Nomad fleet, he was trying to launch his fighter to escape when it happened. Kaylynn recovered the ship, but there was no hint of Derek himself." The hologram decided to wait for a response before continuing the story.
Alexis looked sad, and stroked Kaylynn's hair*
"Kay, no signs means there is hope. No closure, but hope. He'll come back to you, but you have to have faith. galaxy has an odd tendency to deliver second chances."
Alexis,kisses Kaylynn's forehead,before looking to the VI. "Continue."
