The one thing to me that was always strange is that no matter what scanning module you had, you could always detect players at or around 15k, that's a nice range when you're not in a trade lane. Granted, the scanner modules alter what range you can get in-depth scans of the other player's cargo, but that's pretty much it. Maybe for finding base's names or jump holes.
Is it at all possible to alter that 15k detection range? Its strange to me that recon ships like the Order Cruiser can pick up anyone the same as a small transport.
If it is possible, traders will lose the ability to eject themselves out of a trade lane at the sight of a red player, or a known enemy in white. I tend to be very paranoid in both my trader and smuggler and drop out of any lane unless I'm being chased. I hire an escort where possible to increase my chances of success, but it would be nice to see transport ships scanners nerfed and light fighters buffed to serve their scouting purposes. While the <strike>Spyglass and</strike> Order Recon cruiser get very large buffs.

Spyglass isn't around anymore broseph. Giving such a tool to an invite-only faction is just wrong, and the Resheph can't really use it well because of the ID. But it would be nice to have LFs get a larger scan range.
