It isn't. What you see as a player base is merely an object flagged as dockable. You then get beamed to a generic base interior to which there is one in each system. Undock and you get beamed to the "undock point". It's all done through FLHook.

And that is why you show up in the middle of the system on nav map when docked, and undock 100k below the center of the system when base went boom, or some bug occurred.
because destroying a base in an environment of scarce resources of space is totally within reason and taking 20 battleships larger than the actual base to destroy it makes sense in roleplay
I actually just realised that this COULD be an actual useful addition. Think of the poorer factions, the ones who cant field caps. At the moment bases are destroyed by being pounded for days with BSs. Which means that smaller factions that cant afford BSs cant really destroy bases.
But think about the Mollys, they have a history of taking bases in exactly this manner, its what they did to Belfast - sent agents aboard then attacked it, so they could sieze it in the confusion, and its what they keep TRYING to do to stokes and LD14 - News reports about molly spies captured on the stations. They do it precisely because they are too poor and small to afford caps.
If we add marine boarding, it could be done so it would still take as long, but it would give smaller factions a chance to take out enemy bases.

Well that's rather hostile...
Remember how when the game first came out, there was only a fraction of the things compared to what we have now? Then people added more things, like new systems and ships that weren't in the vanilla release. This is a mod, and people have been adding new things in wonderful ways to give us more to do than trade or shoot fighters.

FLHook isn't in the freelancer executable, so even if it was a trick question your "trick" was conceptually flawed. There are these things called direct memory access and code injection. I'm gonna say you should probably stop trying.

I think if this happens it should be available only to carriers and battleships for factions without a carrier. Using transports for a military boarding operation doesn't make sense.

Have you read the description of the Gallic assault trans? Kinda funny you havnt seeing as your grp and all, but consistant.
Anyway this is silly because it would take away the only actual gameplay benefit it could bring, by giving factions without BSs an option to take out bases. Factions that already have em dont need it.
