Yesterday I once again wore the Mandalorian Armor to interpret Ranov'la Aran, the Consul for the Mandalorian Mercenaries. As I was taking the ship out of the dock, I was still a bit aware of Thiago (the role I play most of the time). Both him and Ranov'la were greeted by our little make-believe universe with this sight:
For a moment there our breath was taken away and suddenly things made sense and a new understanding of all this came. Ranov'la was gripping the ship's controls while Thiago's senses refused to let go. Thiago pressed 'y' out of instinct. While Ranov'la skimmed for valid targets and possible clients, Thiago looked for the stories in the making as he readied himself to play his part of it all. Thiago wasn't less robbed of his breath as he found a suiting parallel to the sunrise he had just witnessed.
In New York he found Director Brian Copeland, of the Liberty Security Force. Maybe the Director was involved in the domestic affairs of Liberty, or trying to wrap his head around the tangled web that are the relations between Liberty and Rheinland.
In Kusari he saw the Farmers Aliance.Ze'ev Barak is there. When even the KNF wavered and Kusari was devoid of excitement, that farmer refused to leave, holding a presence there in his battered gunboat, from time to time making a statement in Bretonia. As Kusari became strong again, let it not be said that he hadn't his share in it.
A lone transport glides the tradelanes in Rheinland. Always a pleasure to meet the INDs. Readily inventive of wild stories at the spur of the moment, and Dusty sure is worthy of that tradition.
Again in Kusari both the KNF and the KSP. Kusari is definitely alive. Not long ago we were all worried about both Kusari and Bretonia lacking in life of their own. Now they strive.
In Omega 5 the OPG Corsairs. A constant menace at the Bretonian borders and a hindrance to free trading. Bringing Alien Organisms for the researchers in Cambridge wouldn't be as exciting as it is if they weren't around.
In Sigma-17, Onyx, the Phantom. The Border Worlds are bound for trouble at the hands of the terrorist.
In Sigma-13, Black Pearl, the notorious pirate. If not engaged in disrupting trade, likely involved in some epic battle against the opposing forces.
HGL/Gateway, the newest trading company in Sirius. HGL's board of directors must be congratulated of the company's short rise to the path of success. HGL has all the ingredients to be the kind of company RepEx became. I wish them the best.
Last, but certainly not least, Mon'Star. The terrorist is such a monstrous villain that one could compare his sinister presence to that of Darth Vader himself.
As Thiago smiles at the recognition of such stories being made at the same time, Ranov'la Aran shifts in his seat as he identified a target. Thiago finally withdraws so the mercenary can go about making some stories of his own.
