OH NOEZ! It's a trap!

Background: I'm about to land at Narita Outpost when the server goes down. When the server is back up, my ship is perched right in front of the docking bay. Naturally I hit F3.... but.... rather than docking, my ship flies right into the bay, the doors close behind it, and I'm trapped like a fly in a bottle.



It gets worse. I have pirates on board... police scan me, get mad, and the whole place turns to hell. Everyone starts using me for target practice.



But I'm stuck in the docking bay, and completely protected! (that laser bolt just passed thru me harmless)



This was fun for a while... but I'm bloody stuck!!! I can't redock with the station coz its red!! AAARRRRGH!!

UPDATE: I logged off and on again, and at least everyone's white now. But I was still trapped. It took about 5 goes of F3/Esc, then quickly legging it out the doors before they shut again. Not easy considering your ships turning every which way and colliding with the interior :\

Sorry, onca. As you've said yourself, this must have been amusing the first minute. Did you try and have another player try and open the bay doors for you?

Urgh... too bad your shield is crap, because if you try to dock with the station, you'll bang around for a bit until the doors open up, and then you'll be free to leave. Or just bang into the walls till you die.:P

I had that happen at buffalo, but with an even more ridiculous situation. I wasn't even trying to dock. I just drifted sideways into the docking bay while I was talking to someone and playing with engine kill .I ended up stuck for about 5 mins before and NPC undocked and let me out.

EDIT. Adamantine, it has been about 5 minutes since you posted that just below me, and I am still laughing like crazy at it, and I don't know why.
EDIT2. I now know why... It's 2.24 am and I just found myself giggling at a plastic frog, pretty much anything is funny right now.

Know what's worse than getting stuck in the docking bay? Messing up your dock at Buffalo Base, and having your ship fly off into the great beyond in search of the mythical portal to the almighty Buffalo Base WHILE YOU ARE STUCK IN CINEMATIC MODE!!!!!

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

Its happened to me.. and I was suprised at how easy I was able to get out off it after reading a guide about it.
