I'd like to suggest that we change the PvP rules a bit, or add another sactionable offense to the current list. As many people have read already, last night several veterans of the game were flying around manhattan space attacking people in starfliers. The thing is though that they weren't taking down peoples' shields to below 50% so nothing could be done in response. They were free to continue doing this at will because it didn't count as an attack so the higher level players could mount no response. What i'd like to propose is modifying the PvP rules to state that repeated attacks (even if they don't reach 50% shield) count as an official "attack" against a player. That could be a bit of a problem though because each person would be able to percieve that rule differently and use it in their own way which would create controversy. Another option might be to add a "harrasment" sanction. This sanction would be used to punish players who continually attack others even when those attacks don't count as official "attacks" under the PvP rules (note: the numbers of attacks would have to be about 3-4 to eliminate the possibility of accidental fire from being punished). This would allow the people who were being attacked (such as in last nights case) to take screenshots of the attacks and the requests to stop to the admins and have the admins take actions against the other player.

Harassment, okay, repeated attacks, bad idea.

Realize that the {OoRP} exist for the lulz and don't mean anything serious (cruel parody of most idiots, actually). If you don't want to be bugged by it, PM them asking for them to stop.

I've a bad tendancy to munch on the Starfliers like popcorn if they constantly ram and attack me.

I would suggest this instead.

If a player attacks you or fires on you ask him to stop.
If he does it again, give him a warning.
If he does it again, Fire back.
If he continues to annoy you, move away.

Common sense.

Lets not make more rules about this stuff eh?

Less rules the better generally.

And I know it was a joke, but come on. I found it a funny idea too when I read it on the forums, but to take a forum joke ingame and bug other players for your own enjoyment is something different.

Quote:5.2 If a player is attacked*, he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking. There are no restrictions for self-defense.

5.3 Attacking characters of level 29 and below is prohibited. Characters under level 30 cannot be attacked by players of any level, except if they have non-Civilian ID onboard, and except cases of self-defense.

Welcome to Discovery. Now you know how other people feel when someone does something entirely in RP, and annoys the snot out of other players. I'm sorry that it sounds like I'm picking on you, but honestly I dont have much sympathy. I have to deal with worse kinds of things everyday - From Pirates. From people using the Nomad ship. From traders who dont respond when you are pirating them. From the myriad of unlawful BS and BC in NY right above Manhattan.

What you saw that night was a good...example of how to be noobs in RP. They had Lawl's disease and everything.

What you need to do is RP your frustration. Put a bounty on their heads or something.

Just wondering, but when did being a noob become considered as RP?

Exactly.

OoRP shouldnt be at all. Simple. New York has been turned into an RP system. ( officially). No room for such things.
