It would appear you have changed little in your attitude towards the Republic. Do remember that you have changed sides in this war, to the same one as us.

Astute as ever, you have worked out the problem. It is quite clear that the only reason we did not manage to kill Charles is that we were not trying, that we failed on purpose. Now if you wish to remove your head from your own behind, I shall explain.

As you will have found out, an attempt was made on the King's life. ONI Director, Lelouch D'Aramis - or "the Black King" - contacted us only one week ago, and a plan was made. I assume you already know this plan, and the reasons behind it.

Why trust someone who was until that point a devout Royalist? I do not know if you have convinced anyone to allow you to fertilize their spawn, legionnaire, but I am sure you understand the value of one's children. We were trusted with those of the Director, a sign of a desperate man, but one with a purpose.

In his view, D'Aramis felt the Council too likely to contain spies for the Royalists. Whatever that logic may yield, we required his assistance and were given it. The Council may have a strong presence, but it did not have the access codes to the defence network at the time of the attack. It did not have the agents in place to disable the flagship of the Navy, nor that of several other key ships in New Paris' defence. It did not have control of Tau-44. "For those we left behind"; we Colonials still hold dear to the home we have lost to the Gauls, and a chance to reclaim it... will not be missed.

There actually were reports of a Council fleet forming in the south, our agents actually thought you had noticed our own capital ships in your back garden. It would appear not.
Perhaps the result would have been different had we went behind the back of D'Aramis. Perhaps we would have succeeded, but then again, we could have fallen short. The attack could have faltered sooner, with little dent made in the infected forces, these 'Gallic Wild'. We could have pushed harder on New Paris and have the Vanguard lose the Sovereign, and the ships of our possible new comrades in the 'Fallen Grace Rebels'. They would not be the only ones who turned from a loyal position to fight for the people and their freedom.

You may speak of favourable odds, but we still came closer than any Council, Maquis or Brigand to killing this tyrant king.
You are unlikely to get over your dislike of us, but perhaps the Council as a whole may do so. Keep your distrust of Sirians if you must. Remember though, that we are Colonials.

Gloat as much as you want about having come closer than any opposing force in Gallia -But, Brigands, really?- and maybe claim a medal for a job you still didn't finish, unless, as I'm still suspecting, all your kind sought was mere advertising, which you really got.

However, if you and this self-proclaimed gallic hero call the fact of decapitating the hydra to let two heads grow back an achievement, then you have indeed busted an alliance that was even older than your time in the Colonial Command. Bon fait.

Side comment before I forget, no fleet ever was assembled in the south, as there's no logic in striking in Languedoc and Dauphine. Also, assumption is the mother of all mistakes, tell that to the agents who thought that your capital ships were spotted by our forces.
