I'd like to know about the Zoners, for the sake of maybe improving my RP and learning more of the Freelancer universe. There must be more to them than being neutral to everyone but Nomads and living outside House rules.
I ask this because I found Tau-37 and in it Freeport 10. How RP is it for a Naval trader with a Universal Shipping ID to deliver gate/lane parts to FP10 and returning back to Liberty with alien organisms? Would anyone in Liberty (Ageria or the Navy) mind that I'm hauling gate/lane parts to the Zoners instead of, say, Bowex (Scarborough in Newcastle) or BMM (construction site in Tau-23)? Especially since their destination is just one system away from the Outcast system of Omicron Alpha? And would the Zoners object to using Baffin as a shortcut to the Taus, even if my destination is a Zoners base?
there is not much more to zoners than being neutral on their terms. - zoners are not a warfaring faction, you cannot expect much more from them. - not on the obvious part that is - there is quite some RP depths to them, but nothing you can easily RP ingame in simple encounters.
zoners would for example make sure to welcome outcasts AND corsairs in their systems to make sure they keep fighting each other - keeps them busy and weakens them both. - and they d make sure that both will need supplys from the zoners - but like i said, its nothing you RP in a short encounter.
about you trading with zoners instead of the bigger companies.... thats all up to you. - a trader in disco can either be a hardcore RPer and only trade wht the NPCs do ( like ... as ALG he would only trade in toxic wastes ) - or he is the more freelancer type and trades what makes money.
come to that - i think 99.9999% of the disco traders are rather freelance traders and don t just trade the companies goods - IF they are affiliated to a company anyway.
my favorite way of explaining them is "they are a colony of hermits" however oximoronic that may sound
Some say that he is allergic to a fungus found only between the toes of Corsairs,
and that he is oblivious to 98% of Liberty Law. All we know is... He's called the Busdriver!
