Armor upgrades, are they worth the cost?

Topic pretty much says it all, i have enough money to get myself the 2.5x armor upgrade but im not sure if i should. would it be a waste? The reason im asking is because i never see anyone else using them.

I always have a UAU8 on my snubs, and try to have at least a CAU6 on any caps or Gunboats.

Only buy the small ones up to Mk. Vs if you're using a cloak on a bomber (or fighter, if that's your thing). Need more space for cloak fuel.

Snubs should optimally have an AU8 for battle. It is worth is.

For Capital armor upgrades, everything higher than a Cap 6 probably isn't worth it.
But still, every extra bit of armor multiplier added on a battleship will give you a boost and the sheer "intimidation factor" of facing a ship with a Cap 8 equipped may be worth it.. But frankly, in terms of value for money, anything above Cap 6 isn't worth your credits.

Well, I tend to save for a CAU8 which is on my LABC and my Valor, and I have a CAU7 and a CAU6 on a Vidar and an Orca, so i tend to go for a CAU8.

Cap VI is all you will need. The price from VI to VII to VIII is just not worth the little bit extra you get. I have beat many cap VIIIs with a cap VI Dread. That extra 600mil will only get you 1 more mortar hit.
