Quite new here; & firstly didn't mean to do something wrong;
After playing through FL (again) the nostalgia wore off, & I found myself hunting for a reason to continue playing as I await Star Citizen.
The Discovery server seems the answer; so I DL'd the mod, vanilla'd my game, & installed. The 242/7 server seems for me, so I logged on... Immediately I saw issues...I was used to playing in 1900x1080; but I stuck with it awhile & explored abit.
I logged into the site, looked over the forum threads on 1900 res & hudshift; saw Cannon had mistakenly added it to a list of "can't haves' ..then saw that it was supposed to be included IN 4.86 ...So; I dove into the files, & found I had not de-semicoloned the resoloution I used in the ini...in fact, the hudshift ini was missing.
Everything else was there, but the ini file was gone. I replaced it, pulled the semicolon from the appropriate resoloution, & logged in . ...Ahhh beautiful.. THERE's my screen !
..a few seconds later...BAM..crashed...So I try to log back in, & it tells me the server has banned me.
I certainly don't think I violated the ruleset; & if somehow I did, it was completely unintentional. The ONLY thing I can think of is that Discovery uses some OTHER form or hudshift ini file? & my "adding" the one from hudshift itself flagged my account?
~Any help on this? playing now on another 4.86 RP server from the list...but it's not ..'the'...server. *sigh*
Sounds like it was an autoban for cheating. If the server sees you've edited certain install files, it will ban you for cheating.
The simple fix to the resolution problem is to add -dx to the end of the target on your Discovery Freelancer shortcut. The target should look something like this:

Maybe FL crashed because of incompatibility with your screen, or its corrupted. Try reinstalling and if it doesnt work, try to look at your graphics card, there may be a problem.

Thanks for the heads-up; but it runs/works fine on other servers running 4.86 I think something borked that one time as it were. No biggie, may try to log on again in abit or contact an admin & see if I can resolve the ban issue. As it is I'm playing on redemption; no hassles.
