TO: Kayo Chiba, Black Dragon Society Kumicho FROM: Don Ricardo del Barcelona LOCATION: Palacio Barcelona, Planet Crete SUBJECT: Wanted - "Shukensha" Renzu Liner
A man clad in a heavily-adorned and decorated Corsair admiralty uniform bows politely before the camera, "Bienvenido, honorable Kumicho. My name is Ricardo, Don of the Barcelona Familia. We were hoping You could "convince" Renzu to build us a Shukensha Renzu Liner for us to open up a tourism venture for the Imperio."
He slowly paces from side-to-side in a calm, yet steadfast fashion as he continued, "I won't bore You with the philosophy behind the venture unless You wish to know, but I am willing to offer 500,000,000 Credits for the procurement of said Liner: 450,000,000 SC as budget for the construction of the Liner itself, while 50,000,000 SC as payment for Your clan's services to procure and also deliver the vessel safely and in one piece to Freeport 9. Attached to this transmission are files containing the intended details, layouts and design plans for the Liner.
"Due to the greats risks for both sides involved, should You accept the deal, an ambassador of the Familia will be sent to oversee the construction and manage the costing and flow of the construction budget, in addition to seeing the Liner arrives at Freeport 9 when it's finished. I don't have to mention the consequences should anything happen to this ambassador, do I?"
He stops his pacing and looks straight at the camera with a proud grin, "Lastly, why I've decided to contact Your Honor directly is because I will accept no less than the honorable Kumicho himself to also oversee such a significant event for both the Imperio and the Hogosha. Needless to say, should this deal come to fruition, expect not only special discounts on cruise tickets for any and all Black Dragon Society members, but also have Hogosha-Imperio relations that much sweeter as we also parade the importance of the Hogoshas on Corsario culture."
The man bows again before the camera, "... Buena Salud, honorable Kumicho."
Project "Madrid" Wrote:As one browses over the files, one can quickly note how vastly-unique the interiors of the Madrid (the name which the designers wish to use for the Liner's name) were compared to other liners, that it deserved its own ship-class in its own right!
While redundancy-systems were to be expected especially on a ship this size, the designer(s) deemed fit to take the philosophy of redundancy to the point where even if the entire ship catastrophically broke in half, both parts would still be spaceworthy enough to limp to the nearest shipyard and be rejoined! Despite it still being technically a luxury liner, it was catered to have the endurance of a warship, as if the designer(s) expected the Madrid to be constantly exposed to the harshness of war and battle first-hand. Interestingly, there are no indications of armor-additions to the design, perhaps to be retrofitted and added later when it docks on a Corsair shipyard.
Another interesting note is that while the file looks incomplete, only listing the "naked" framework of the Madrid (meaning zero amenities whatsoever), the design appears structured, as if the designer(s) already have their own amenities planned out for the Liner, all of which are not listed here. A skilled luxury liner architect could confidently guess what several of these unlisted amenities are, but many others simply are too foreign to guess right without going into conjecture. What -can- be discerned easily, however, is how strategically-planned out the layout is to make offensive boarding action a nightmare even for well-trained marines.
In conclusion, the designer(s) have gone through great ends to imprint on the Madrid the enduring spirit of the Corsairs. All that Renzu'd have to do now is use that hardened spirit in conjunction with Aphrodite's wisdom, to make a liner fit for a Pirate King.
My apologies for not having replied sooner, but I wished to make certain I could reply to you with a reassuring message. Your proposal has been accepted and is already being processed while writing this message. After a meeting with the board of Renzu they have agreed to gather additional manpower to hasten the completion of this project. I've made available the diplomatic quarters on Itabashi for your ambassador's arrival. Depending on how smoothly the project goes, you can expect the Madrid to arrive at Freeport 9 in less than half a month.
And I have to say, your proposal's piqued my curiosity, since it's not every day I get to hear the Imperio undertaking a tourism program. And special discounts for the Society? This may help morale quite a bit, considering how it's quite dangerous, not to mention expensive, for my syndicate to cross the Sigmas just to relax at Luxury Liner Hawaii.
Signed,
Kayo Chiba
