Jason Standings was born in the industrial district of Planet Manhattan. He was born tiny, thirty-four years ago, and would remain so for the rest of his life. He did not suffer from dwarfism, or any such genetic defect, but was just abnormal in his size due to malnutrition. He had vibrantly blond hair, and greenish eyes.
He graduated from his High School 322nd in his class, astounding considering that the graduating class contained over 3,200 people, and that was only 1/5 of the senior population. After graduation Jason took to odd jobs, only scratching by and often resorting to thievery to survive.
Thievery came easy to Jason thanks to his size. Being 4'7'' by the time he reached the age of 20, Jason became well known as a man of many talents, not all of which were exactly kosher. He took to stealing things larger than personal electronics or just credits in themselves, but he began stealing person landcraft.
At the age of 22, this talent for stealing landcraft became his worst enemy. He was drafted by the junkers to steal twenty-seven Samura landcraft from the shipping facility on planet Denver. Noting the large sum of money that was involved in such a deal, Jason leaped at the opportunity to make a fortune such as 100,000,000 credits. He did not anticipate that his size would increase by only one inch. Jason was caught by an overzealous worker who had come that morning to take inventory of his own free will. being caught, red handed, with twenty-three of the craft already out of the facility and in space via several private contacts, Jason didn't even try to resist arrest.
His trial lasted a year. The democratic Liberty were almost fooled into thinking that he was not actually there when, at the last moment, his size betrayed him. The laser scanners which were present had detected an abnormality of minute significance, so insignificant that it had been ignored for nearly a year by investigators, was finally investigated. It appeared that the very top of Jason's head had been detected by the scanners, not even 1/10 of an inch, but just enough to identify him. Because they could not prove the exact amount of money that was lost in the event, though, the authorities could only pin Jason for forced entry and minor theft. He was sentenced for 20 years aboard the Sugarland.
Aboard the Sugarland, Jason met a man known as Jimmy Jameson. No one on the station knew his real name, but he was there for a reason, to find people just like him who wanted to help people like him, to find people who wanted to join the Rogues.
Jason had never been a good pilot, he had only ever owned a Hawk as a personal transport, and this ship wasn't even fully equipped with weapons, it only had 2 Flashpoints for intimidation, they had never been used, but he accepted the offer none-the-less. He was taught how to fly in his spare time through rough simulations made out of paper and quizzes by an acquaintance of Jimmy's everyone called Skotty. Over five years he was taught, and he wanted to learn, and he learned well.
For the remaining six years he was aboard the Sugarland, Jason did his best to brown nose the warden at the expense of his fellow inmates, as long as they weren't also doing what he was doing. He did everything he could to make parole and leave the Sugarland early. After six hard years of doing this, Jason did, finally, earn parole.
After leaving the Sugarland, he did exactly what Jimmy had told him to do. He took the first transport he could to Manhattan, stole a Starflier, and shot a few DSE containers in the Detroit Debris Field. He brought what he found as payment to the Rogues of Alcatraz, and muttered the code he was told to say:
"Jimmy has teh Hacks"
The Rogues let him in, and after some more training, this time in real space, they felt Jason competent enough to be called a Rogue. They helped him work his was up from a Bloodhound to a Hyena, and eventually a greyhound. As a result of where he was recruited, he is permanently stationed at Alcatraz, only occasionally making his way to Buffalo when instructed to.
Jason never saw Jimmy again, and he never heard of him either, but he would come to remember him for the rest of his life.
