I wanted to organize a little event series soon, with many sides fighting each other..
How will it work?
A research liner will launch from a specified planet or station towards a target planet or station. It will take an unknown route, sometimes taking lanes and jumpgates, sometimes flying through open space and relying on jumpholes.
The factions try to take the laner towards their own side, while fighting the other factions off. Depending on what faction has control of the liner at the moment, the liner will choose different directions towards bases controlled by the unlawfuls, or a research station.
The following examples are examples of the first event, in which Rheinland & Corsair factions are present.
If the liner is under the control of the Rheinland Lawfuls, it will head towards Heisenberg Research Station, Koeln.
If the liner is under control of the Rheinland Unlawfuls, it will head towards Freital Station, Omega-11.
If the liner is under control of the Corsair Empire, it will head towards Cadiz Base, Omega-5.
If the liner reaches one of these destinations, the faction who managed to capture the liner will win, receiving an amount of credit and/or receive experimental equipment, like codename weapons or armor upgrades. The amount and value will not depend on the amount of players.
How does capturing work?
If a ship stays near (moving along, almost like with formation) close to the liner without getting shot for 6 seconds, then send a trade request towards the liner transferring 'capture tokens' towards the liner. What capture tokens are and how they are represented, I will come to that later. Then, it has to dock on the ship for 1 minute and will get jettisoned into space afterwards. Congratulations, your troops now try to invade the ship. Through some calculations I will compare the 'enemy' capture tokens to the ones currently present by the factions. The liner will by default start with a medium amount of rheinland lawful capture tokens. Using these calculations will determine the losses on the ship.
If ships are docked on the liner, their max cargo space will equal their capture token strength. If the bottom of the liner gets shot until the shield is down, all ships that are currently docked will be jettisoned. To dock, they need to fly close to the ship for 6 seconds and request to dock. They will then be accepted and can remain docked to support their troops on the ship. Unfortunately, they will be missing in the space battle for that duration they stay in the ship. The points will only count after being docked on the ship for 1,5 minutes.
Once a faction gain control of the ship, it will change course to the factions target location. It will also regularly open fire on all players that are hostile to the controlling forces.
//EDIT - forgot to explain capture tokens & restrictions
Capture tokens will be used to represent the forces who are fighting on the ship for control. Every faction has its own capture token.
The lawfuls will use marines, the unlawful side will use blood diamonds, and the corsairs can use artifacts. Through some calculations and rolling, the battles on the ship will be decided after many minutes. The units that will be defeated will be jettisoned from the liner and can be picked up again, although it will require the ships of one faction to dock again on the ship, making them lose time.
Restrictions
In the event, the following ship types are allowed: All fighters (from light fighters to super heavy fighters) and freighters. Capital ships are not allowed. Before the event starts, the forces have to be balanced. "Reinforcements" may arrive at a later point and can serve as recon ships until they can step in.
If there are any questions, feel free to write something.
I would appreciate any feedback very much, suggestions and some input are most welcome. I would also like to hear the opinions of the involved factions about this. This event series can also be expanded throughout all of Sirius, when I find the right rp background.
Okay, the event might take place next weekend, given that enough people participate.

Rheinland Lawfuls
The Rheinland Police and the Rheinland Military were asked for protection. They were promised a big amount of credits and maybe some assistance with new equipment and hidden vessel transportation via docking modules incase the transfer is successful. The civilian corporations were also contacted, were promised interesting researches that might increase their potential business. And, of course, the gratitude of the captain and the honor to once more fulfill duty. The objective is to protect a bretonian research liner from unlawfuls. Doesn't sound like a hard job, eh? Wrong.
Rheinland Unlawfuls
The certain groups who oppose the Rheinland government have intercepted the messages, and heard what might be in the pool. This could open the oppurtunity to strike some of the Rheinland forces and open the possibility to give the lawfuls a major drawback in terms of technology, weakening them against the hessians, unioners, and so on.
Their objective is to capture the liner, taking it over.
The Corsair Empire
The corsair empire intercepted the transmission aswell, knowing of it. The technology could be of use, or be sold to other individuals who might be interested. It could also be equipment that might solve their hunger problems, more or less. The specified information wasn't very detailed, after all. The Unioners offered the corsairs their help in that matter, after all every single thing can help the forces.
The objective of the corsairs is to capture the liner, taking it over.
It is. Defeated forces will be jettisoned through the airlock, and it is a matter of timing whether the opponents can blast these forces out of space or you pick them up to use them again.
I need confirmation of how many ships you are (and their names), then I can add you to the roster.
Wilde can participate either as hidden agents, if they are interested in getting the intel. Later on, they could probably turn against the lawfuls aswell, although it requires the infectees to board the ship aswell if they want to lead the ship near O-55.
Technical difficulties have caused the timetable to be delayed for a week.
The new departure time will be 26.05 at 20 SMT, directly after the Rheinland Activity Event.
