Its been about a year since I played Discovery Freelancer (after playing it since 2005) and I tried to get back on. I am not having success in this endeavor and I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot so that I might find a solution.
Thanks in advance!
(Game has been reinstalled and added discovery freelancer mod.)
You know, you can also use the edit button for posts, adding more text to a single message instead of making several.
Not that it matters for now, it's more important to get you online.
If you would take a look to your right, you'd see a link in the menu dubbed as Download and Install. Clicking that or this (<<) link will take you there, explaining detailed how to get FL Discovery working.
Try that and come back when it fails again.
Good luck and hope to see you ingame soon!

The quote above by you is perhaps the reason you're unable to play. You say reinstalled, does that mean you already had it on your computer installed and did a "repair" or something similar? Disco requires you to make a completely fresh install.

You do not need any updates, just a completely fresh vanilla FL install.
Have you tried to rename/move/delete your Documents/My Games/Freelancer/Accts/SinglePlayer folder? Discovery will fail to start if you've got save games from other mods or vanilla FL lying around.

You are right. I followed the instructions minus that one point. It needs to be a clean install. Will try it now. Thanks!
