Ah Mr. Udent,

It is nice to see that you are still alive. I was beginning to wonder as it seemed your wife now ran things in the Alliance.

You wish to have a discussion on neutrality? You wish to discuss the Zoner way? Very well, but only so far as you personally attend the discussion. If you have not the fortitude to handle mature discussion, by all means please put me through to your wife.

Firstly, I will say this. You claim that all others are 'not Zoner'. Why? Becuase we will not blindly give you the power you crave? Because we will not give in to your demands? You say that our actions have been anything but neutral, yet can you provide me proof of when OSI has acted against you? Have we fired on your ships, your stations?

In the beginning of this mess, as rumor reached me of what was happening in Omicron-74 and the others around me pushed for OSI involvement, I declined. I chose to stay out of it, because I firmly believed in your right to live, and die, in a manner of your own choice. I did not want to try to impose my will upon you, as the Zoner way values freedom and independence over all else. Have I always agreed with your methods? No. Would I change the situation if I could? Yes. But that change requires that all involved would step back and approach the problem with an open perspective. This is a stance that it is apparently difficult for everyone to achieve.

Your people have been both arrogant and abrasive, My pilots have witnessed time and again the preferred methods of the Zoner Alliance. It is an unfortunate fact that the methods of the Alliance and those of OSI are fundementally different. You would seem to prefer to speak with plasma, rather than words. And I still support your choice to do so. If you wish to run about angering all who would be your friends, I will not stop you. But nor will I save you from your own machinations.

To add to the problem, The Alliance is sort of an enigma to all in the Zoners. Not since the Omicroners have I seen such a paranoid and introverted group. I would learn more about your group, except that when questioned, you spout off about something or another and start throwing threats. I have attempted to speak with you personally Twice that I can think of, and both times I was either outright ignored, or you shoved me off to deal with your wife.

Omicron-74 is a Zoner system, you have as much right as any Zoner to be there. You have as much right to help in its defense as any Zoner. The problem is that you take actions without consulting any other Zoners. 74 is not solely the property of Phoenix, not solely the property of OSI, and certainly not solely the property of the Alliance. It needs to be shared, with resonsibility shared as well.

Tell me sir, By what ruler do you measure Zonerness? How does one quantify what it means to be Zoner? OSI is certainly one way to be Zoner, the consumate trader, but that does not mean that other ways are not any less Zoner. Phoenix, TAZ, even the Alliance. All have their place and right to exist within the Zoner people. Their is no one 'right' way to be Zoner. Each Zoner must only measure themselves by their own ruler, no one elses.

And you may rest assured, I, nor OSI, will be joining the attacks on your people or bases. I may not agree with your way, but it will be a long time indeed before I willfully attack another Zoner. My stronger methods follow different routes.

Even now, Mr. Udent, there is hope. Even now, in the darkest hour for the Zoner people, there is a light. We must but reach out for it, and calm things before they get any worse. Even now, I would extend my hand in friendship to the Alliance. There must be a way we can all exist together benificially within the Zoner People.

But that path must start somewhere, Someone must take the first step.
