Well, as the heading says - but only when your shield is up. Namely:
I dueled 2 Osirises with my Valor, RNS-Tonnant, in Connecticut. One was destroyed. I had around 1/4 of my hull left. But the other one kept resisting. Until it downed my hull to the point where the red line indicating your remaining hit points turned into nothing visible. My ship began to smoke. But, just in time, my shield was restored and the Ossie went out of its range, but stayed in the range of my forward gun. My FG didn't end the fight, though. The Osiris flew into a mine field and exploded. When they later docked out, they fired a few shots at me. A few fighters were also shooting at me, and were moving my shield line. But suddenly they stopped, even as they continued shooting. Those shots from the Osirises also did no shield damage. It's not because they have undocked from New Heaven too recently - I was about 10k away from the station and they needed time to reach me. Also, they continued shooting for a long period. I didn't want them to think I'm cheating, so I waited some time, thinking it might be because they have undocked relatively recently.
At the end, I turned my shield off on my own and my ship disintegrated into thousands of little, fiery pieces. All was fine and the bug just disappeared after I undocked.
