alright - i told Xing to wait a day in case other concepts would crop up - it appears the concept is OK the way it is .. i ll send the model to Xing along with the suggested loadout... he can modify it the way he likes of course and then submit it.
just do me a favor. Please test it a lot before submitting it. It wont be a help at all if only skilled people can use that 360 feature. All i see right now is a barghest/thor MK2 frustrating the average player.
submitting is now up to xing - he got the model.... from my experience as a non too skilled player - the feature to fire a SN backwards is mostly that .... a feature. ( it sounds more useful than it is to the average player )
here is the experience...
the average player will be hyped about it - and will try to score a backwards hit ... and while he ll try it, he ll die, cause he ll remain in backwards view too long, forget about dodging and still still miss ( - i think the supernova is something like 250ms? - subtract the ships movement into the other direction 90ms - and you ll have a projectile as fast as a snail 160ms ) - a player that panics will react like a fighterpilot.... he ll hit "thrust" - and so his speed will go up to 200 - the momentum will make the backwards SN an awesome 50ms fast ( or in other words - even a juggernaut pilot can get a coffee after it was fired, drink it and then start to dodge )
however - "hurling" a nova into the target is not too hard. - i was able to make a forward attack against a nomad battleship ( NPC ) firing the supernova forewards ( 200ms + 250ms = the usual attack speed of a bomber... then i fired the nova backwards without tracking ( as i had no target in backwards view ). the supernova was still flying at around 200ms ( momentum of the ship - nova = 195ms ) ... the nova hit the battleship just fine. ... this only works with a nova of course.
firing the supernova backwards resulted in me taking heavy damage, as i wrote. - i think a skilled player can use that feature well, an average player won t be able to be too successful - only against an equally average warship pilot.
but you must know that i only just tested the ship. - i had like 30 minutes time to test it - i think the learning curve is not too steep. - an average pilot will experience a few nice results - and quite some more devastating results. - but its basicly the same with a normal bomber... it very much depends on the enemy captain of the warship.
NPCs can be fooled rather easily - players most probably not.
