1. soliders wear camouflage to blend in. running around half naked is a good way to go home early. camo painted on to skin needs to be re-applied almost hourly, as you sweat the stuff off and a happy shining face makes an excellent target. Likewise, thick goldie-looking chains are a bit of a giveaway as to your position

2. draping a snake over someone doesn't make them well 'ard. snakes are reasonably intelligent to know that they can't eat a human. a human lying down, keeping very still and quiet is not threatening to them, so they will not attack at all.
Lying down on a nest of red ants for long enough to get formic acid toxicity and spending four days dosed up on antihistamines beats snakes every time.

3. Firing from the hip is an excellent way to miss. The marksman's prayer:

1.The position and hold must be firm enough to support the the weapon
2. The weapon must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort.
3.Sight alignment and sight picture must be correct.
4.The shot must be released and followed through without undue disturbance to the position.

When firing from the unsupported position, use the left hand on the barrel guard. if kneeling, brace the left elbow on the left knee. Never fire from the crouched position, as you'll miss.

4. running up ridges and shooting from the top is called skylining. if you are defending a position, then you would already dial in the mortars to salient peaks around you. shooting from the top of a peak is a good way to eat incoming fire.

5. wearing olive green/black in light green/sandy conditions isn't camouflage, especially if you are wearing a black balaclava in the daytime.

6. using long ranged weapons in cqb without bayonet attachments marks you down as a rookie.

7. anyone using H&K weapons as a matter of choice likes cleaning them more than he does using them.

8. bows and arrows make excellent weapons, for about 300 yards. if you want any distance to your ordinance, i recommend using chemical propellant.

9. emerging from a lake and shooting a longbow means that the string is wet (you'll miss as your wet fingers 'pluck' the bowstring) and the feathers are wet (won't fly straight as these heavy feathers are dropping the tail of the arrow)

10. why go to all the trouble of selecting and purchasing a knife if you are only going to throw it away. throwing knives are not combat knives, and vice versa.
