Today i've got some time to think about disco a bit and here is the result.
I don't really know what's the current situation of the outcasts but what i know is reproduction is a great problem for them because of the cardi side effect. So they can't afford to lose pilots every day on the battlefield. Now here's my idea:
They're good at engineering right? Right. Why don't they just build a buch of combat drones? There's a large group of AI ships in the Omicrons they can easily capture one or with some luck they can find a disabled one, or they just make some negotiations with the AIs and buy one to reverse engineer it. And then they build their own armada of combat drones and a few starwars like drone command ships so they can command them from behind.
Build lots of drones in various siezes.
Deploy them on the battle field.
Spare many pilot lives.
????
Profit.
Their look can be something between the nomdas and AI ships because OC's and Nommnomm's are like best bro's and they can have a shared connection with the "mothership" just to have another similarity with the jellys.

Check 101st faction-status, last entry reading Database. There's the links to the ongoing forum-RP stuff, which also includes the stories for working on artificial intelligence and drones.
More to come later, you're invited to partake if you wish, just hit me up on Skype.
//Edit: Both storylines so far are still in its starting phase. I've a lot of other things to attend, and the Drone-project just recently started.

That's the common thought but not quite correct, as playing an AI would be just that,... playing an AI. But the general plotline to achieve a state sharing similarities to the Mindshare is something that's rather building on virtual intelligence enhancement, supportive systems that will not replace the actual human mind itself.
Going into details sure is not something the forum wants to know though. And it's far more expectable those facts will be unfolded with ongoing RP regarding this.

Well, maybe but, we're in the future and we have a near infinite comm range so anyone can easily say that he commands the drone from an OC base, and when it gets dusted the pvp death rule still can apply because he has to replace the drone with another one, and it takes time to equip a new one with the desired loadout and send it the the location where the "pilot" is.
