I am not much of a modeler, so I can't create more than concept work myself.

I got the idea for this after I realized that the l'ane will probably remain focused on smuggling and transport, not actually attacking transports and stealing their cargo. That is where this would come in. This would be a small-ish, medium to light in terms of cargo capacity, but with a good deal of armor and weapons. Less for trade and more for attack. The initial idea I had here was 9 guns forward but with kind of rubbish arcs due to their placement.

It is kind of a kitbash of already existing ideas in the Brigand shipline, but mostly because they are already reusing elements in a lot of their ships.

Alternatively... if this cannot be a Brigand attack transport, it can easily become a Unione Corse armored transport... they do lack any freighters and transports of their own, so a small, heavily armed and armored smuggling transport maybe of use to them... though this was designed with attacking other transports as the main idea.

Gallic unlawful battletrans can be done at some point I'd say, but fixes for existing models or factions sorely lacking in proper shiplines come first.

The design itself is solid but a little boring. Looks nice from a top angle but that's about it. Perhaps the engine pods could be angled down the same way as the struts to give it a bit more depth?

Edit: Why not try making it a Maquis thing instead and going more for a Council style look? The Brigands and Corse have more stuff than them already.

Well it is good to hear that the idea at least has merit, but I can see what you mean by saying existing models have to be fixed and added first, yeah.

Eh I will try revising it later in the week.... or make a Maquis or Council version. Actually that might be worth doing. The problem that I kind of run into there is that the Council fighters do indeed have their own look, but their caps just copy GRN aesthetics and they share transports with the IDF line of ships... and their freighter really is kind of bland too. So the issue is what do I go about basing such a thing on design wise? And since the Maquis and Council do not really steal cargo, would that not be what the transport is intended for?

Gallia in general just lacks mid/small transports unfortunately, that really limits some of the stuff that can be done there unfortunately. Hopefully we will see more in the future... maybe this can be a steppingstone towards that.

That sketch seems very similar to the remodel we just got of the Firefly. Maybe something a bit more ...Gallic looking?

It is really just a kitbash of existing concepts in Brigand ship concepts... the Jaguar's back sweeping frame, the L'Ane's cargo pod... the Courier's double cockpit, Asco's command deck.... the Asco and the L'Ane actually use the same engines, which this has as well, though these are more in line with the gunboat's

As much as I love the L'ane... And I don't one bit... This might actually be a better replacement for it..

Then again when I led the +LE+ ages ago, we actually tried to push for an unlawful cruiser, cause only ones around were the council which no ID for unlawfuls could use actually despite having a grand multitude of bases together and whatnot.

Then again our idea wasn't really a kitbash like your transport there. Jinx made the model but sadly lost it. BUt good luck to yah.

What I have in mind upon looking at this topic is something I've thought of earlier, some kind of crossover between Vache and l'Ane, Vache looks/theme with l'Anes general layout (central body with 2 cargo pods, engines bigger, more to the sides than at the top, etc).

That and make it a smuggler ship while redefining the l'Ane to be the battletrans.

OR... make something out of Taureau, like an unlawful version of it or something similar.

So... basically an Asco with a cargo pod then? Also, the Maquis don't make big ships of their own Durandal, they rely mostly on Council and Gaul Civ tech. Maquis do not have a shipyard, they are a smaller terrorist faction.
