Excuse me for sending a transmission to you in such a direct way. While internal communications are usually more efficient, I believe that the information I am about to share with you would best be kept between the three of us.
Mere days ago, I was traveling through Kusari. Now, this is, of itself, not unusual. I often go there to hunt the weak and unsuspecting traders that pass through this territory. What is unusual, however, is the transmission I picked up while I was there.
Unfortunately, I cannot directly forward it to you. I did not manage to record the transmission. What I can tell you is that it originated from the Ghosts, and was directed at the inhabitants of the Tohoku system.
Rumor has it that there is a significant Nomad presence in this system. I cannot be certain of this. The Ghosts have, so far, successfully kept this kind of information under wraps. However, I don't know of any other "entities" (as the communication referred to them) that they would want to contact in this specific system.
In short, it seems that the Ghosts are directly contacting Nomad entities in the Tohoku system. From what I caught of the transmission, the Ghosts are requesting that these entities attend a "convention". It appears that they're hoping to strike some sort of deal with them.
I unfortunately don't have any other information to offer. However, it might be worth looking into this. Even if we are no longer at war with the Ghosts, their business with the Nomads may well affect the Nacion as a whole. Not to mention that they might get an edge against us through whatever "assistance" they are hoping to get from these creatures.
While there's certainly no need to apologize for conveying such . . . disturbing information, I am sure I speak on behalf of Comandante Orsini by thanking you for bringing this to our attention. I have little experience with Nomads or the infected other than an occasional unexpected sighting, but you're certainly right – whatever business the Ghosts have with these beings certainly has the potential to concern to la Nación as a whole.
Time seems to be of the essence if a something has already been planned, but we have no way of knowing if that's the case. However, based on the information you've gathered, perhaps a small venture to Tohoku is in order to "find what we can find." Perhaps something is still there. I trust if you know where the transmission was directed, you might be able to direct us as well, si?
Comandante Orsini will likely want to share his thoughts, but I'll have my own craft readied in the meantime. While I must say I'm curious to know how you were able to pick up these Ghost transmission signals, I can't say it bothers me. Quite a skill to have, and certainly something we can discuss later.
It is good to hear from you, and even better to hear that you wish to look into this matter.
If you wish for me to lead the way, I will gladly do so. To prepare, I will search through my ship logs to pin-point the exact location of the Tohoku system. Combined with some star-charts and the odd bar rumor, I should be able to find us a path there.
My Rapier is currently being refueled and prepared for combat. We don't know what to expect there, after all.
A strange one indeed. My thoughts are in concurrence with Comandante Alcantra's so I needn't make this a long response.
Curious, however. Very curious indeed. My brow was firmly raised upon hearing several words in your transmission. I have never ventured to the system myself either, it may be best that we head there with more than just the three of us. Unless of course, there's something you are not telling us.
In any case, we'll not keep you waiting long. Preparations will be made as soon as possible. Grazie.
