INCOMING TRANSMISSION

Guten tag, mein name ist Natalia Wolfer, former member of the Rheinland Military, first fleet division, rank of feldwebel or staff-sargent. As of today, I have entered Liberty space as a fugitive in need of help, let me start from the beginning.

I have been doing a daily routine in Stuttgart, patrolling the local settlements, lanes and so forth, right before I could leave the system, I have received an order to patrol the Westnebel nebula, a nebula frequented by enemies of the military, as always, I have obeyed and followed the order, everything went fine until the nebula's sensor dampening kicked in, losing track of my wingmates. Couple of minutes later, two Odin class vessels have ambushed me, unfortunately they struck first, an EMP torpedo overheated my ship disabling it leaving me to drift in space, luckily the nebula has managed to hide my systems from any detection thus I managed to live through that.

A couple of hours later, I managed to power only the emergency thrusters, I had to do with what I had, safely returning back to planet Baden Baden, it was the closest place my current way or transportation would take me.
Unfortunately when you dig too deep you get answers that will eventually get you in trouble. Certain military officers have been bribed to send certain people off to patrols that they should not return from. Apparently I was one of them, with the possible Hessian ambush failure, police officers and certain military soldiers with taste for wealth have turned a blind eye to an accidental weapon discharge.

A second attempt to my life has happened and this time from my fellow comrades. I managed to escape from this encounter with few losses.
The only place safe I could flee to was in Bering to the freeport in the system, however with the unfortunate deactivation of the jump gate, a jump hole had to be used. For a week I was floating in space until a zoner cargo ship has found me, I did not really take in consideration if my engines would survive a jump hole jump with a damaged jump drive. As it was, I got to the freeport and on a knife's edge I managed to change the engines to something, well, more stable.

Unfortunately everyone can be bribed nowadays resulting in a third attempt to my life, from the freeport's own bartender.
In desperate times there are desperate needs, I have fled to Liberty hoping to find someone to help me.

This is pretty much the reason of my actions. I am here because I seek asylum and because I request citizenship. A second message will be sent shortly after towards the Liberty Navy concerning my current ship and equipment, I would like to find out why have I been betrayed and I have a feeling the only way I could do that is by siding with the Liberty Navy.

While I'm sure many of you still cling to the unreasonable fear of Rheinlanders that was created as a side effect of our long-standing border war with the Federal Republic, I have no such fears.

That being said, As Commanding Officer of the First Fleet, I would like to personally vouch for the good character of Ms. Wolfer. It is my belief that her reasons for entering the territories of the Republic of Liberty are genuine and that she should be given asylum and eventual citizenship within our great Republic.

She has used her "contraband ship", several times in order to aid or defend Naval assets, and that's more than I can say for many Rheinlanders.

Moving on though, granting this woman asylum would allow the Navy to conduct formal interviews with her in order to either confirm or disprove her story, and in order to ascertain a better picture of what's going on on "the other side", her inside knowledge could prove to be a very good asset for us to have, therefore it would be foolish to turn her away.

Hopefully you will take my recommendation into consideration. Additionally, I am further extending the allowance for Ms. Wolfer's "Wraith" class fighter, to cover her for another thirty hours operating in Libertonian space.

As to the matter of citizenship, it has come to our attention that you have already enlisted into the 1st Fleet under the command of Fleet Admiral Baker. As there is a long tradition of military service in exchange for citizenship in humanity's history, we believe that such an option would be applicable to your case as well. One month of active duty and subsequent good report of your service by Fleet Admiral Baker and we will begin the necessary paperwork to officially list you as a citizen of Liberty.
