From: Jack Morrows, CEO To: Commonwealth Leadership Subject: Future relations
Greetings.
As I am sure you have noticed, there have been heightened activity in the Tau-37 system. We are, I'm afraid, responsible for said activity. In the confusion, we have unfortunately failed to make ourselves known to you. This is our attempt to rectify that error.
I represent Universal Exports, a small independent mining and shipping company. Ten days ago, we began the construction of a small outpost in the Tau-37 system. At the time, I am sorry to say, we were unaware of the Commonwealth presence in the system. The base is now sufficiently developed to serve as our company headquarters.
We would very much like to open up formal relations with the Commonwealth, as I am certain that we share a lot of the same ideals. If you are interested in discussing this further, you can reach me on this channel.
*Nadeau spins theatrically on his chair, with a certain aimless grace*
"Monsieur Morrows, nothing is ever certain within a quantum universe. But I must confess I have heard some rather… sensationalist reports directly (and daringly, I may purpend) associated with your particular personal subsidiary of the Zoner Way - variety is a rarity monsieur, and my interest, like the proverbial pyramids of yore, remains eternally peaked. But enough pleasantries; we have exchanged to the limit of viable human contentment, I am assuaged."
"…What say you and yours to a joint export jaunt, say, 20:00SMT the saturday coming? We have much to discuss, and an intimate, profitable discourse far outweighs the value of any pithy neural net communique."
"Ever in your touch - Nadeau".

“Entirely workable, my most ponderous associate. A belated business arrangement is still a business arrangement, regardless of any slight, chronological transgressions or generalised lack of readiness thereof.”
“It is honouring (if not humbling) that you still wish to initiate dialogue however, despite the passage of time. To this end I would hastily state that our previous suggestion of laison is still entirely open to the opportunists among you…”
“…Twenty One Hundred hours, Sirian Mean time, Saturday, Freeport ten. Such is an apt occasion for our discourse.”
"Do not procrastinate now."

I'm afraid said time is not fortuitous, as we have other engagements at that particular time. However, perhaps same time, one week from now, will be acceptable to you as well?
