I've been meaning to try to do this for some time and I'm always stuck to taking screens of the in-game chat which is VERY annoying and takes FOREVER to upload into imgur and then post it on forums for some sort of MD.
I have seen it time and time again that the chat logs can be transferred on some sort of notepad or something? How does one set that up?
I'm sure there is a way you can do it with a shortcut addition, however the way I know how to do it..
Through Discovery Launchpad, as long as you check the options it automatically does it for you. Saves all the logs in Documents/My Games/Freelancer/DSAce.log
If you don't use launchpad, you'd have to dig up the option to add to the shortcut. (Don't know it myself, sorry!)

Do you mean "Freelancer Account Manager?"
or....
I just opened DSAce right now
I saw options that were "off"
Append your shortcut with -logchat to automatically log text to dsace.log. Add in -logappend to prevent dsace from being overwritten each time the game runs. Further add in -logtime if you want it timestamped, and/or -localtime if you want the time in your local setting rather than UTC.
So, your DiscoVerse™ shortcut will probably end up looking like:
Edit: I think, anyway. And Discovery Launchpad is a program (editedit: found the link) which can manage your accounts much like FL account manager, but also has handy check-boxes for options like this and works as a platform from which to choose accounts/launch the game all in one. It's pretty sexy.
