The Kremlin Dome, the Capital of the Sirius Coalition, protected from the cold weather of Volgograd's sub-zero temperatures with the city extending deep underground. It housed a large portion of their population that were not attempting to restore JiangXi to it's former greatness. It was a symbol of the endurance of the Coalition people and their capacity to survive in the harshest of conditions.
Premier Ben Warner, newly elected leader of the Sirius Coalition was seated in one of the many conference rooms of the Kremlin Building, he was currently wearing his uniform as he had just returned from Zvezdny Gorodok, he had just returned when he received a transmission from their allies in the TAZ, their concerns about the safety of their people within the Omega-49 system came to no shock to the man.
There were two bottles on either side of the table, the Coalition's finest Vodka direct from Mykolaiv's Biodomes, short crystaline glasses were stacked neatly near the bottles. It was a very strong drink, especially since he used to drink Liberty Ale which was nowhere near as strong, it took awhile for him to get used to it.
The door slid open and and admitted an Aide to the State Duma, he gave a sharp salute before he entered the room and quickly stepped inside before the door could close again.
"Apologies sir, but the representative for the TAZ is on his way." was the only words he spoke before he left the room again. Ben folded his hands on the table and waited patiently for the representative to arrive, their ship would have docked within the Kremlin Building's hanger which was attached to the building before being escorted by a member of the Coalition's Ministry of Truth. Which meant that it wouldn't be long until they walked through the door.
He could only hope that they encountered no issues with the Ministry of Truth, they tended to be overzealous in their duties to the cause and the State, His Watchful Eye always had some plan in motion...For good or ill.
A door slides open and in walks the TAZ Delegation and their escort. At the head of the delegation was Skarsi Wyrdmake. Skarsi had to chosen to wear both his power armor and Popely robes, which only seemed to make his already tall and muscular body look even bigger.
"Kallisti Premier Warner." Skarsi says, bowing his head. "Thank you for meeting me. This is my trusted Clan second, Fith." he says, gesturing to the similarly armored man at his side. Signing to his honor guard to disperse around, Skarsi and Fith take their seats at the table.
Spotting the vodka, Skarsi pours himself and Fith a generous measure. "Coalition Vodka, always a fine product." He says, downing it.
"Now, to the business at hand. I am sure that, sooner or later, Omega-49 shall see war breaking out once again. We both know the damage that was caused during the last conflagration. I already know that, should something happen, the Coalition will endeavor to minimize any negative effects on the Canaria Populace." Skarsi has another drink of Vodka
"What i want to discuss is twofold. First is Plans and procedures for evacuating civilians from conflict areas should fighting break out planetside. The other is covert co-operation The first can be attributed as TAZ business, the second is my personal business."
Skarsi nods and Fith hands over a datapad. "On that is all the information you should require to avoid incidents in case of war. Should the worst happen, we wouldnt want one of my dropships to be mistaken for a corsair ship and shot down. In areas of conflict, my ships would go in to evacuate any civilians ideally before a battle but during battle if necessary.
As the man entered with his second Ben rose out of his chair, however due to the man's power armour he found himself...alittle on the short side as it were, althoug in total honesty to himself he couldn't tell if it was the power armour he wore or natural height. He gave a short nod of the head in return before he returned to his seat, his guests helping themselves to the Vodka as Ben reached into his coat and pulled out his spectacles, while he could see without them he tended to get less headaches with them on.
"Welcome to the Kremlin Dome."he greeted before listening to the other man's opening statement on the business at hand, he could understand their concerns, the last clash between the Coalition and Corsairs over the skies of Omega-49 was a messy operation.
As Skarsi finished Ben was handed a datapad. He took a brief glance through it before setting it aside for proper analysis later before looking across the table at his guests.
" Yes, I am aware of that previous operation, the incidents you have mentioned are a tragedy that could have been avoided by both the Corsairs and ourselves. Rest assured the Coalition will do what it can to prevent Zoner casualties within your space during our campaign within the Omega-49 Protectorate.' he promised, reaching infront of him for a glass and one of the bottles of Vodka, pouring himself a shot and quickly downing it.
"The Coalition's plan of attack is a two-pronged attack aimed at the primary Corsair launch facilities within the System, namely the Fez Battlegroup and their own Colony Planetside. The Battle with the Fez, provided the operational plan is followed by both Coalition and Molly Forces involved, will take place far away from Gran Canaria, however the seizing of the Colony is what I am more concerned about, to prevent large-scale use of munitions that could damage Zoner interests in the region we are going to employ heavy use of mobile infantry squads with small-arms." He paused for a brief moment to let this sink in before pressing onwards.
"The Coalition will occupy the Colony and keep the Corsair settlers pacified while the Fez Battlegroup is driven back and out of the system, both goals are equally important in our campaign to weaken the Corsair's stranglehold on the region."
Skarsi strokes his beard in thought, listening to Warner outlining the coalition's plan. He leans over and whispers something to Fith, who nods.
"The system plan is of no concern to me, as the Fez is sufficiently far from any inhabited stations and planets. What i may be able to assist with is the pacification planetside." Skarsi says, sipping at some vodka. "Fith..." he says, gesturing as his aide puts a device in the center of the table. A few seconds later, a holographic representation of an island appears on the table. "Glebe Island, as it is listed on the bretonian charts. My territory, we call it the Aett. The most secure piece of real estate on Canaria." he says, gesturing around the display. "I assume that having a base camp on the surface would make things easier on your ground forces."
Skarsi picks out a small area of the island, and the hologram responds by zooming in. "This is an auxiliary barracks depot on the northern coast. It would suit your needs very well, if you wish to take up my offer. Accommodation for up to 500, secure landing pads and hangars for everything up to medium sized gunboats, including your fine 'Storm'" assault craft.
"On that datapad is the co-ordinates to the depot along with IFF codes that will allow your ships passage through the Aett's sentry net. If you deem so, i can also have other facilities made available around the island. Perfect base camps for your troops." Skarsi has another drink of Vodka
"Sound interesting? i'm sure you are wondering why i would offer assistance like this. Well, lets just say i like to help my friends, and the Coalition are great friends. I'm also open to giving the Mollys access as well, but it may be better to offer it through the coalition. I dont want my name to be too known in connection with your plans."
Skarsi sits back, the chair creaking from the weight of his armor, as Fith continues on."There is one other thing we would like to broach, but it is only a preliminary thought. Your 'Storm' assault craft are very interesting. If it is possible, Pope Skarsi would like to acquire one for testing and examination. We understand that the power generation unit is not very compatible with most technology, but the available power would be suitable for the purposes we require."The Discordians wait for a reply.
With a nod Ben listened to the Pope and his 'second' speak. What they offered would help in the pacification process of the Corsair Colony. The Coalition invasion force would need a primary staging area for the Colonial Take-over and this 'Glebe' Island appeared to be a strong defensive position. Alot of the initial invasion would be dropped directly via Storm once any air-defenses were neutralized, however they would need a place to store their heavier equipment that would be used to erect new defenses to defend their new assets and the IFF would allow them relative safe passage between the staging grounds and their supply lines back to Omega-52.
When Fith spoke concerning a Storm Gunboat he raised an eyebrow, the Storm was a mass-produced Gunboat and easily replaced unlike a Typhoon or the currently under-construction Tempest Light Carrier, they could afford to grant such a request as there was little harm in it...
"The Coalition would appreciate the temporary use of Glebe to store our heavier equipment as inserting it directly would result in massive losses from hostile weapons fire, the use of the IFF Codes would also be appreciated in this endeavour." he replied with a calm expression, he took another shot of Vodka before he continued onwards with Fith's request.
"As for the request of a Storm Gunboat, the Coalition is willing to grant this so long as a Commissar is present to ensure it does not fall into House Hands, this is standard proceedure and he will not poke his nose into your business so long as it remains in your capable hands, other than that I see no issue why our allies cannot use the vessel, but I must warn you that the design is fairly easily recognized by our foes and should they see it in use they may ask you to turn it over or start asking uncomfortable questions."
"The terms regarding the Storm are acceptable. it will mostly reside either in Baffin, Omega-49 or your own system." Skarsi says, sipping at some vodka. "Questions are questions. We discordians are secretive people, so nothing would be revealed. When it is time for the movement, a little notification would be appreciated. I believe that concludes our meeting. Thank you for having us."
Skarsi and Fith stand up and bow, before leaving the room and returning to their ship.
