the name is Crowe, Robert Crowe. I am contacting you as representative as well as CEO of a trading flotilla also more or less known as "The Network". Some of our pilots have discovered the profit which lies within the distribution of your Cardamine and already purchased a moderate amount of units on your markets and delivered them to the Golden Chrysantemums in Kusari as well as to the Junkers in Liberty.
I might interject here that unfortunately presently neither the Rogue nor Lane Hacker base administrators seem to be willing to grant my pilots docking access on their bases known to us and rather prefer to buy your Cardamine delivered by us via another middleman as for example the Junkers for a higher price and adding additional haulages needed, which obviously endangers the cargo further to be intercepted.

But - I'm just mentioning that so you know what our possibilities are and what aren't. The reason being the following:

first of all let me thank you for your time despite this kind of conversations not being part of your usual duties. I myself am also usually not supposed to be involved directly in contatcs like that very often, so I can relate to that.

I'm glad to hear that our distribution of your Cardamine pleases you and I can promise that it will continue within our capabilities as long as it stays as lucrative of a business as it is right now to us.

Before I try to answer your questions satisfactorily I'd also return your own questions to you If I may, since we are also not very familiar with Malteses' inner political structures and The Crimson Cross' role within it. Some clarification on that would be much appreciated on our end.

First of all The Network is a group of business-minded people, who had their fair share of the so-called justice of houses like Liberty or Bretonia. Our people came to us for various reasons, for safe heaven, for a possibilty to make credits outside of the corrupt structures of the houses or for payback - just to name a few.
Besides our businesses focused on the distribution of goods, we also encourage our pilots to ... liberate ... cargo from the backbone of said houses, their corporations.

Our people originate from many places as you can see due to my explaination earlier. However, if you meant to ask to where we operate from: We own a fleet, if you will so. That's all the information I can give you right now about that and I ask for your understanding that for the security of our people that's all the information I can give regarding our home right now. After all we house families and children here as well and prefer not to endanger anyone aboard our ships by giving out crucial informations such as the combines location. That being said, I personally would be delighted to welcome you or a representative of yours here on board in the future to talk in person, possibly introduce you to a few of my partners and to get a very own impression of this beautiful place for yourself.

I wouldn't say the interest of our pilots is all that sudden at all. I myself used to transport your Cardamine in the past before our organization even existed, back when I was a Bretonian, law-abiding and blind sheep. Distributing your Cardamine is lucrative, the credits earned so support our efforts, it's that simple. As you might imagine it is not only complicated but also expensive to keep a fleet running without having a magnitude of drydocks or qualified technical personnel at our disposal to service them sufficiently enough. I don't even want to begin to go further into detail about such obligatory things as water, oxygen or food.
So, the conversation between our subordinates I shared with you earlier which was transmitted to me sparked some interest in our leadership about what else your nation or more specifically you and your organization might have to offer to us where we both profit from.

I hope these informations shed some light on open questions you might have had and I apologise for possibly not sharing the amount of informations you might have desired. Believe me that I shared what I could at this point.

I'm glad to see I'm at least not alone in feeling out of my respective element then. Tis a sad day however when one such as myself must take up the duties of others. But alas, we are streched thin at the moment.

And you'll have to pardon my delayed response to your missive; I've just received word that one of my pilots was captured by the damned cannibal Corsairs... I've spent the past several hours gathering up every willing Crusader and ship I can arrange for a raid either to invoke penance, or to alleviate her of the shackles the scum likely have her in.. provided she's not dead already.

That much aside, we of the Cross do appreciate your people's moving of the Orange Dream. Cardamine is the lifeblood of Malta. It's beating heart are the plantations that grow it, and the veins shepherded by the smugglers that move it. It's a delicate balance and a complicated mechanism that all must work in tandem to function efficiently.

But I digress; onto business.

Your peoples seem to be similar to many of our allies; the disheveled likes of that left to roam the rest of Sirius after being cast from their homes for one reason or another. Destined to one day return the favor in the form of a Bolter shot or simply a sharp blade through the throat. This is a story we (or at least I) have heard many times before, and can sympathize with on at least a basic level. It pains me to see your people suffer...

In lieu of this, I shall do you a favor:

By my authority, ships marked with the Network IFF shall be permitted within Outcast space, provided you abide by the Maltese Laws.

You will have a Cross protectorate within Maltese space, and will be permitted entry into Omicron Alpha, though I would advise you keep weapons powered down and your intentions clear.

Bear in mind however; come unto this arrangement, and our allies become your allies. I mean this less in the "friends of friends way", more in a "don't go shooting our allies" term.. I've mulled this over with some of the Cardinals and they seem... uneasy about your kind, so I would advise you proceed with caution; they will have eyes on you, and you would do well to remember this:

I am always watching. Do not disappoint me.
