(im posting this here cos im kinda new and am a bit worried to ask the admins as they are a bit stern..)

i was reading and thinking about the rule which says you must not f1 out of combat..

but.. ive always wondered how do people tell? Sometimes my pc crashes or I lag out and lose connection.. would the player still be penalised for that?

maybe if it happens.. the player just has to reply in the sanctions topic thread and explain what happend?

Sometimes connections are dropped or someone lags out, and that is the excuse every single person who is sanctioned for F1'ing out gives. There is no way for the Admins to know, so it's the same penalty either way, thats the only way to enforce the rule. My advise if you happen to lose a connection or lag out or something when in a interaction with another player is, get back on as quick as you can, and get in touch with the player, let him know what happened and work it out. Most times people are very reasonable, but this is the risk we take when playing and if you get sanctioned for it, you just have to suck it up... it is just a game after all.

I disagree.

I would think that the game commands are sent to the server. And the commands can be read off of the server's logs.

The other way for proof is Viedo of Fraps. Your shooting at a guy, there are no bases or dockibles around and he disipears right infront of you.

Fraps has a downloadible version that has 30 second limit.
Just re-click on record.

Also, fraps is under $40. Far less than a brand new game.

If you F1 out of combat, you stay around for another 30 seconds in space. You may have disconnected but your ship stays. What would the point of fraps be in this case anyway? If someone accidently disconnects, they are penalised. If your internet connection is too instable then simply do not get involved in PvP etc.

I was lucky enough to download fraps years ago back when it was free and unlimited. Lucky me.

I always went screenshot happy when pirating in eddie. You screenshot each oneo f your demands, with chat console open, and the "radar" tab not hidden. You demand, you demand... you screenshot every page. He logs, you have a time reference (chat) with your demands, and relative position towards hostile tradelanes/stations/other players/npc's.

All the people i was forced to report as eddie for F1 during piracy was banned.

(Yes, i reported everyone who did that. But really, you have to be very ... to F1 at a demand of one credit. And believe me, many did..)

yeah, unfortunatly I'm a good enough pirate to know to watch for an F1. It's easy to prove if you know what you're doing, even with just screenshots. The only thing that would make it easier would be an ingame clock *looks at Cannon*.

It's fairly easy when they tell you "bye" and with the delay you have a moment to react.
