Subj: Towing the Junction Wreck into orbit of Topeka
Good Day,
Some little while ago, I was speaking to AndyH about the Junction Wreck Reconstruction Project (JWRP).
Our first step in the project is to move the wreck into orbit of Topeka. I had been previously led to understand that, while tedious, the process would not be difficult.
I am asking for an assessment of the work involved, and an estimate of the cost.
Thank you for your time and efforts. I look forward to your response.
Found this.. just now. I personally Apologise we've had some difficulty and setbacks that have brought many projects and plans to a complete halt here in Puerto Rico.
Considering ... I have passed the wreck a dozen times I've never personally surveyed her... I do remember however a rather..unwashed group of.. migrants inhabiting the wreck some time ago did a good job of warning others away from it for some time.
The NTF tried to resurrect her before that.. and a few other junker groups had passing interest. Essentially since many of these efforts have failed and most of the groups settling in kansas have.. disappeared I wonder if you're not aware of the popular stance that the whole system is cursed has crossed your desk.
Superstitions aside we have a limited number of hands to move the thing. We..honestly need a full survey of her state. because I can tell you appearances can be deceiving in matters of salvage, she can look sturdy and worth patching up but I am almost certain unless most of the superstructure is intact all it will take is a moderate sized asteroid or an uneven tow and she will completely peel apart.
If you have this survey data I can get back to you soon. but without it I cannot give you any promises or commit any hands to this unless I get volunteers. I will ask the other congressman.
Get me a survey and we will see if we can move it.
To my surprise it looks like she will tow but only at low speed. Any faster and were asking for problems.
Can't cut her up and reassemble her.. looks like it will be as you said. Tedious. Three salvagers could do it. Four could do it a hair quicker and safer. Though it's up to you.
Im going to see who's up for it. I would say 50 Million per ship for the men's time.
Let me know when you want to proceed make sure there no more claims or owners.. cause.. moving it back would be a severe PAIN in the butt.
I have already formally filed salvage in both Liberty and Bretonia. In addition to the court proceedings, I have made contact efforts with former claimants. As of the beginning of the current month, there were none.
Legally, the wreck belongs to me under international laws of salvage.
If you give me an account, I will have the funds transferred to you for dispersal, and you can undertake the work as quickly as safely possible. Your folks also have docking rights at Wichita Orbital in polar orbit under Wichita.
Thank you for your efforts. If you need access to any of my prior correspondence, say the previous discussions with AndyH, I will be happy to provide them.
