I believe it was mentioned somewhere that the pilot commodity should cease to be "contraband", but I suggest going one stage further-how about selling factionalized pilots on the faction guard bases? This way, those of us that like to have a something representing "you" can get one without going all OOC and killing our friends.

Obviously they would have to be pretty expensive, otherwise there would be a trade ("Running Xeno pilots from guard system to deshima, anyone?..."), but im sure anyone that thinks like me would be quite happy to fork out 50k per crew member (guards sell for 24k, if im not mistaken?).

Dunno about everyone else's feelings, but I think this would be a great RP aid (and please don't go on about VIPs, "spaceship crew" (so bland), and "invisible cargo"-I want to be able to se me there, in the cockpit)

The problem I believe is that there can only be one price point at a place. Meaning the buy price and sell price are the same. So if you sold pilots at a base they would also be bought for the same price there. It would probably encourage oorp NPC farming.

So, set the price to be equal to the top price on any base...after all, these are guard bases, the places that would want the pilots back the most...

As to OORP farming...report it, and, besides, as i said before, these ARE guard bases, so its gonna cost you a pretty penny to be able to dock with them.

I say no to this for one reason:

The button says scan cargo, hence you are scanning the ships cargo hold.

That and I rather enjoy it when a police NPC asks me for lawful pilots in my hold, adds more realism.

So all the NPCs carry what? prisoners of the same faction? guests? in their holds? if you're gonna have a "pilot" commodity, that implies that the cargo hold is not *just* cargo.

Sadly this is a fault in the gameplay, there is no way to make them drop pilots without having one in there hold.


Capships and liners however are a different matter, as the entire ship is basically a gigantic cargo hold.
