Part 1... "Prison station Fairbanks, this is patrol Alpha 2. We have precisely 3 more waypoints to go, so far so good, Alaska seems quiet for once."says David
"Patrol Alpha 2, this is Fairbanks. Understood, but keep an eye open for any treat. They strike from the shadows and steal your life when they can."
"Aye, Aye, Fairbanks. Don’t worry; we are used to this marvelously creepy system. Continuing our patrol."
20 minutes later…
"Prison station Fairbanks, this is patrol Alpha 2. One last waypoint to check and we go back home."
"Patr…[static]…Oooo, This is…[static]…anks. We have just pic…[static]…signals on sca…[static]…big! Go ba…[static]…tely!"
"Fairbanks, this is Patrol Alpha 2. May you repeat? There was some interference in your message."
"Patrol alph…[static]…Get the f…[static]…Nom…[static]… Detect…[static]…Battleship…[static]…Abor…[signal lost]…"
"Fairbanks, can you hear us?! Ohh I don’t like this… Escorts, keep your eyes wide open for any anomalies."
"Understood sir!"The other pilots say.
A few seconds later
"OHHH CRAP! This is an ambush! Multiple nomads on scanners! Escorts, repel them!"Says David
"David! Watch out!!"Says one of the escorts
In the split of a second, David turns his head to the right and sees a nomad Torpedo exploding on his ship.
The whole ship disintegrated itself into a giant fireball. Ejecting David and leaving him drift in the void while his escort is trying to fight back the ambush. Floating between the lights of fear blazing against those of freedom and watching the birds fly around his head in this majestic wild fight for survival, the director was beginning to feel weaker every seconds. Explosions were lighting up the area, one moment they are blue, second after they are red, he could see all the colors illuminating his surrounding like a beautiful firework show he saw so long ago. Although, at the same time, everything began to fade, get darker and colder. He could feel the scythe of the reaper trying to cut to his heart as his eyes were closing…
"Hey come here Alex! Look at all these fireworks for Liberty' day" says Elisa
"Yeh, They kinda make some super cool explosions, Ohhhhh Look at this one!" says Alex
"Wanna go closer to see them??"
"I would like to Elisa, but have you seen the crowd down there by the lake? Don't know if it is a good idea"
Hey, C'mon we are 12, we are old enough says Elisa with a big wide smile
"*sighs*Alright, you won, but stick close to me, I don't want us to get separated in the crowd
They ran toward the crowd, got through it to get as close as possible to the lake, where the fireworks were launched from. There was music, shows, people dancing, drinking, and having fun. It was also a warm and dry night. Unusual, since at this time of the year, it is extremely cool because fall is beginning.
Shortly after, a tall and old man with a mustache came behind Alex and Elisa. Which took the two kids by surprise.
"Greetings, Mr.Copperfield and Miss Smith, what are two young children such as you doing here in the middle of the crowd, isn't it a tad dangerous? he wonders
"Mr.Simmons, what, what are, oh never mind, just don't tell dad okay??? Please!" says Alex
Simmons was a well know man in the city, he is the owner of a candy shop. All kids know him as a very joyful and respectful person. The kind of man everyone liked
"Yes, yes, don't worry, it will be our little secret, but if something bad happen to both of you, don't make me responsible. ok? hehe. Just watch out for pickpockets but keep having fun!" he says again as he leaves them.
Elisa and Alex then walk a bit away from the ground, near a big rock as they began to feel uncomfortable within the mass
"What do you think your father would say if he knew that we were here?" Ask Elisa
"I don't think I really want to know... Last time he... he... I just don't want to talk about it, okay Elisa?"
"It's alright, I know how he can be, poor you" as she snuggle on him "Those fireworks are so beautiful, just wow" as she tries to change the subject of the conversation.
"There is a lot of beautiful things here Elisa" as he tell her with a little smile before kissing her.
"I wish this moment would last forever Alex"
"Me as well, I will never forget this night. It is so magnificent, all those lights, colorful explosions, and you"
They both stayed there for hours. Enjoying all the marvels life could show them. At each firework, the time was slowing for both of them, watching all details of the moment, memorizing it forever. As if this moment was destined to be eternal.
Oh Alex, I'll just go to the toilets. Gimme a minute
Ok Elisa
She then walks away to the toilet at a slow speed. Unaware of being watched by someone...
A few seconds later, a small group of thugs comes out of the nearby woods and grab the girl in the blink of an eye
ALEX!!! HELP ME PL...she says right before one of the man put his hand on his mouth.
Alex tried to catch up on them, but they were already a lot of yards ahead of him. Powerless, he could only watch his beloved for the last time of his life. . . Hunted by those images for the rest of his existence, till he finds a way to be forgiven... Till he finds her.
Years have passed ever since this event. Alexander grew up within his society, but the wrong way. Demons of his past kept haunting him everyday till a point where he went lost on the path toward his destiny. Lost, off-road. Drifting in his illusions, thoughts, trying to find answers to questions no one could answer. Trying to find the meaning of his life.
The lost of Elisa caused him to fall into a depression. His school marks were far from good. His old friends were fading away, like mirages, them not liking what Alex became. A shattered soul in a cold and cruel world, wandering clueless in the mist surrounding his life is what he was.
With time, he made new friends, so can we call them Drugs and illicit activities were regular hobbies for Alexander and those people. Tensions within the Copperfield family raised exponentially in reaction to this new life. The father being an alcoholic and a ruthless parent ended up evicting his own son from the house and cutting all links with him.
In majority at that time, Alexander moved into a small tenement with his friends living a live of debauchery. Problem is, you cant flee the reality forever
Police! Open the door or we break in!
Residents in panic attempted to destroy all the illegal drugs, but of course, the police are known to deal with such fools very frequently
Move out from the door! Officers, Breach in!
OH FRAK! says one of the residents
It was a typical anti-drug cartel operation organized by the LAPF (Los Angeles Police Force) to prevent proliferation of illegal materials in certain key areas. Alex and his mates werent dealers, just small consumers, but to their habits made them be noticed by the law enforcement. At their misfortune, or bad karma, they were unable to get rid of all the synthetic marijuana in time. They were arrested.
Pulled in front of a tribunal, all were charged guilty of owning illegal materials in their tenement. The sentence given to them was 6 months of prison in a rehabilitation center followed by 6 months of forced work on California Minor.
Tahoe Cristal cloud, California system, Los Angeles' first equinox period, 2nd day of the equinox...
Alexander opened his eyes. Walls around him looked familiar. Same with the putrid smell of the place. Yet, he was not on one of L.A. most populous beach anymore, no more sun, no more heat, no more laughs. Then, everything shifted back into place... He was on a prison ship heading for California minor; Hell for friends. He must have fallen asleep during the take off the spaceport. Such heavy ships take ages to be ready to take off and reach their destination. Being brought back to reality was quite a punch on the moral as things were far from happiness and his stomach was asking for food.
He remembered entering this giant container with other prisoners some hours ago. How long? he couldn't know; there were no portholes, no clock, and barely any lights. All he could see was the souls with who he would have to live for the next 6 months and the rust on the walls showing how Liberty cares for its criminals. They were approximately 250 in the container, all tossed like sardines under the supervision of -lovable- armed wardens watching from footbridges. The general mood in the container could be easily felt. People were stressed, sad, angry... well, it smelled sweat more than anything. He was himself anxious. Most persons aboard the ship were on their first%2
